Mad Men: The Prequel - Josh 226
Updated on Jun 10, 2013 by Josh
A slightly different cartoon today as it is a parody of a lovely illustration by artist Steve Brodner for an article in The American Prospect (title updated). The article is wide of the mark and Anthony, who feature's in Steve's image, and I decided to create something that expressed another view point.
More from the 'Wrong Files' - Josh 224
The Met Office (along with everyone else, it seems) has much to say about Doug Keenan's post (simplified by our host here) and can be found on their blog here and website here.

AR5: A Progress report - Josh 221
Steve McIntyre has a hilarious post on the desperate measures needed to get some non peer reviewed papers into the IPCC's AR5. I am not sure where the phrase 'Frankenscience' comes from but it seems appropriate for AR5 which already looks DOA.
Bitter for some - Josh 219
Hooray, at long last! A politician with a really great cartoonable face. I'm sure I can hear the appreciative sharpening of pencils across the UK. I will certainly be trying to do him justice ;-)
Well done, Nigel, and all the best with the politics too.
A well cooked survey - Josh 218
Lots of blogs helping John Cook out here, especially Lucia and Brandon over at The Blackboard where Brandon has just discovered that the survey of 12,000 papers, is, in fact, not a survey of 12,000 papers but a selection of papers based on John's own idea of which should be chosen. Wow.
Data in the Raw - Josh 217
With several questions from MPs recently, see here, here and here, on the statistical analysis supporting the Met Office's claims about recent warming, it is probably time for the Met Office to do some revealing of evidence. Julia Slingo holds up the relevant papers on the subject.
H/t Anthony for the 'Gut instinct' quote and story here.
A bit sensitive - Josh 216
Not sure which direction Dana 'Scooter' Nuccitelli is going but I dont think it is too worrying.
H/t to Anthony for suggesting this cartoon.
You cant keep some things down - Josh 215
Over at Climate Audit, Steve has been looking at the resurfacing of some Hockey Stick science papers, and the fun continues here and here.

Tamino does Climate Audit Covers - Josh 214

Tamino's recent posts on Marcott et al bear an uncanny similarity to Steve McIntyre's work at Climate Audit. Dave Burton noticed and commented:
Grant, I find it just plain bizarre that you wrote all this and never even mentioned Steve McIntyre, who first figured out what Marcott had done wrong, and whose excellent work is the whole reason you wrote this.
H/t WUWT
This cartoon imagines Tamino, aka statistician and folk singer Grant Foster, putting things right. Do suggest some more songs that Tamino might like to try. I am sure he will be very grateful.
