Tamino does Climate Audit Covers - Josh 214

Tamino's recent posts on Marcott et al bear an uncanny similarity to Steve McIntyre's work at Climate Audit. Dave Burton noticed and commented:

Grant, I find it just plain bizarre that you wrote all this and never even mentioned Steve McIntyre, who first figured out what Marcott had done wrong, and whose excellent work is the whole reason you wrote this.

H/t WUWT

This cartoon imagines Tamino, aka statistician and folk singer Grant Foster, putting things right. Do suggest some more songs that Tamino might like to try. I am sure he will be very grateful.

I like "Magical History Tour" - seems that's about what his sleight of hand 's been focused on recently.
Or a stretch might be "Mac of Kintyre" ??

Event better would be "Prince Tamino sings and plays the magic flute".

Oh no, just when a statistician was winning lots of praise and adulation here just a post or two ago, you have to go and spoil it by bringing up the name of one who won't!

The moments of respite from the generally dismal, or missing altogether, image of that noblest of professions were all too brief ...

Beatles - Help!

(For Marcott et al. or any warmist who's found themselves under sceptic scrutiny)

Help, I need somebody, (Steve M, RomanC, JeanS, Willis, etc)
Help, not just anybody, (Steve M would be best)
Help, you know I need someone, help. (now it’s bleedin’ obvious)

When I was younger, so much younger than today, (before Steve)
I never needed anybody's help in any way. (well I did but I didn’t know it)
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured, (since the sceptics wiped the floor with me)
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors. (it took a crow bar and FOIA)

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down (I’m feeling a bit of a berk)
And I do appreciate you being round. (through gritted teeth)
Help me, get my feet back on the ground, (ahhh, those heady days of press interviews before I had to admit the effect wasn’t genuine)
Won't you please, please help me. (stop pointing out the flaws in my work)

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways, (one moment you’re up, then…)
My independence seems to vanish in the haze. (somebody will be scrutinising my grant applications)
But every now and then I feel so insecure, (what if it happens again?)
I know that I just need you like I've never done before. (to just GO AWAY!)

If I were Tamino/Grant Foster, I'd stick to singing. He's got a very fine voice:

Well, if he's calling himself Tamino, you'd have to consider:

Grant Foster a folk singer? How abt them titles:

"I Don't Know Whether To Come Home Or Go Crazy "
"You're A Cross I Can't Bear"
"I Would Have Wrote You a Letter, But I Couldn't Spell Yuck!"
"Keep Forgettin' I Forgot About"
"I Don't Know Whether To Kill Myself Or Go Bowling."
"If You Don't Leave Me Alone, I'll Go And Find Someone Else Who Will"
"My Wife Ran Off With My Best Friend, And I Sure Do Miss Him"
"I've Got You on My Conscience But At Least You're Off My Back"
"Who You Gonna Believe, Me Or Your Lying Eyes?"

Apr 6, 2013 at 6:49 PM | Unregistered CommenterHoi Polloi

My favorite, this can be for both individual proxy records (Bristlecones, Yamal, etc.) and for large multi-proxy studies that won't go away even when discredited. Also applies to persons such as Mann and Tamino who won't acknowledge their mistakes and failings when uncovered by CA......
