"putting a stop to climate change"
That's quite a big ask, isn't it? Perhaps, though, it will enforce a bit of thinking on the subject, including the natural component, which has already produced a stream of ice-ages.

Again and again, I ask - why are proper scientists not calling this garbage out?
You don't even have to be a "proper scientist" to tell what rubbish it is, as many here have domonstrated over the years.
I'm beginning to think that the definitions of "scientist" and "invertebrate" are hard to distinguish. People like Dr Judith Curry are obviously genetic anomalies.

geoffchambers, I hope I've done my bit to counter all 16 points.

Google tells me (under its search window) that the UN's Global Goals have ben launched by "We, the People" and include the endorsement of such luminaries as Emma Thomson and the odd footballer or two. Its intention is among other things to have no poverty [they obviously haven't read their bibles lately - the poor ye have always with you....] and putting a stop to climate change.
AAAAGH! The words "fatuous platitudes" spring to mind.

and then, to avoid upsetting the subsidy paymaster, Dorothy quickly blurts:
.... first, I'd like to make it clear that we really think its a very good project and we think its very important technology .......
Trebles all round.

It’s a bit worse than I thought. The article
http://www.conspiracyanddemocracy.org/blog/science-and-conspiracy/
introducing the conspiracy conference funded by Cambridge University seems, in references to changing history and destroying monuments, to be comparing climate sceptics to Nazis and ISIL, though it also talks of conspiracy theorising “on both sides”. Comments are open at the acompanying article at

eeesh... he really did introduce the Drax piece with
"plans for the UK's first renewable carbon plant, have been thrown into doubt"
Trivial early morning bloop or indicative of the subject understanding ? my vote goes for the second interpretation.
Then there's Obamessiah giving it "Climate Change is too scary to tell the whole truth" - which is true - but not in the way he thinks it is....

An article on Drax to follow up Stewgreen's link. Well colour me shocked that CCS couldn't fly without a blank subsidy cheque. NOT. I guess this means drax will close too. How are those lights looking?

7:18am Drax woman just been on GreenpeaceToday prog talking about them puling out of $$1bn Carbon Capture project
Strangely introduced as "plans for the UK's first renewable carbon plant, have been thrown into doubt direct audio link

Lord HawHarribin's latest trick is pick an anti-evolution US politician and portray her as a typical force against climate alarmism : Ignore Pope on climate, says Republican Marsha Blackburn
Speaking as part of a forthcoming Radio 4 documentary series "Climate Change - Are we Feeling Lucky?", she asserted that the earth had cooled in the last 13 years by 1F. And she said no evidence would persuade her of man-made warming.
he also did an ealier report about the same show "Shell Arctic drilling 'risky' - ex-BP boss Lord Browne"
..I expect it will be all big propaganda show.

those "proper" scientists are saying things. The issue is that that this isn't about science - and verifiable evidence doesn't count.
This is about ideology - the volume of chanting and vilifying / attacking those that voice heresies is where it's at. I can't remember what it was now - but I got attracted into this after being labelled a "denier" somewhere for pointing out something truly trivial but true that didn't chime with dogma - and went on to look at things and people that I'd previously assumed were true and honest.
Those scientists who dissent from the prevailing climate mania are prudent in my view to keep their heads down since western and particularly Anglophone science is a bloated academic politicised bureaucracy - look at CERN .... they are extremely circumspect about interpreting their work where it brushes up against climate.... what chance does an individual with a family etc. have against vindictively enforced dogma ?
Not that loyalty / usefulness to "the cause" matters since allies are soon discarded by the activists when no longer of use - look at Lovelock....
Presently volume and vehemence are promoted as equivalents of truth and certainty - activists scamper around twisting, misrepresenting, concocting lies and attacking individuals - when addressing issues to which the honest answer is "we really don't know"
All power to Judith Curry and others who are confident enough of their independence to offer honest comment - but their voices aren't heard widely because the zealots are conniving with MSM to block heresy - they are mobbing dimwit provincial politicians as I witnessed here in the UK and browbeating them into line.
Trouble is .... unless we take the fight to "them" (Eco-fascists ) - we lose.... which is why I personally find this whole game such an irritating business.
