12:15pm R4 : Call You and Yours: Do You Relish Or Resent Recycling?
"...Experts say this variance has led to confusion about what you should be putting in each bin. Putting the wrong items in the wrong bin causes recyclable material to become contaminated, and can lead to it being rejected, and ultimately ending up in landfill. Figures released today reveal the scale of recycling rejected and sent to landfill in England because it isn't properly sorted.
So we'd like to know if you relish recycling or if you resent it. Maybe you enjoy sorting your rubbish and think you have a responsibility to do it. Or perhaps you're infuriated by all the rules, and don't like doing it. Is your local council particularly good at recycling, or is yours struggling?
E-mail us - You and Yours@bbc.co.uk. Remember to give us a phone number so we can call you back."

Dieter Helm is an interesting guy, though rather too mainstream for the tastes of most readers here: lots of good stuff at http://www.dieterhelm.co.uk/ for those interested.
It's going to be Plan B for the grid this winter.
Here's a new book, by a heavyweight (so not a 'climate scientist', obviously).
Hubris: The Troubling Science, "Economics, and Politics of Climate Change" by Michael Hart
It seems to be a significant contribution to the policy debate. Some links below (to Amazon and review(s?). If you have the laudable habit of not clicking on unverified links in posts or emails, you might like to search for the title on Amazon (it came up pretty quickly when I tried this).
The Kindle edition is £6.99, which at 600 odd pages could be good value. I have ordered it and am looking forward to checking this!

Hope the chemo helps. I disagree with much of what you say, but wish you good health to say it.

A Tesla Model S has burst into flames during a test drive in the southwest of France. Four people were in the car, including a Tesla employee; they all escaped safely before the car was "totally destroyed" within five minutes of the fire starting.
- Tesla thought it had fixed previous fire problems by strengthening the shielding of battery compartments.
Teslas BURN lots of subsidy money aswell

Interesting comparison between Limousin and Derby, here recycling is at a central point where you take recyclable waste with three categories, glass, newspaper and everything else and household waste collected weekly. Derby household and recycling waste were collected alternate weeks, over full or incorrectly filled bins were rejected and presumably dumped in the nearest layby/field/waste ground the next night. Not sure which method is most cost effective or best at reducing landfill, but I have bought myself a set of bins which fit in the car boot so I only have to visit the recycling point once a month, but that means rinsing wine bottles and tins to keep smells to a minimum..
It remains to be seen what our new super region does about recycling..
