@Pcar I meant is it worth me posting links to events in Surrey ?
.. I can't go myself cos I am in the north..and can't afford to go down south cos it's too expensive.
but if no one else goes there then its not worth my time posting links

Proof that alternatives burn more fossil fuel per generated energy quantum
By Denis G. Rancourt, PhD

I only skimmed, it seems to say since price is proportional to energy used then Renewables cost more so must include more fossil fuels in their implementation. Yes we know they cost more that is why they NEED subsidies. FB discussion

tomo, "muesli belt kids" is one term for children suffering from a lack of health including malnutrition due to parental obsessions with healthy eating.

You see stuff, you learn a bit ...

I didn't know that an obsession with eating healthy foods was in itself a medical condition = orthorexia - The Guardian are researching a piece on it ....

It really wouldn't take much to invent a new medical condition of unhinged AGW alarmism - a bit of Latin / Greek messing around ... a new word to prod them with?

Owen Bowcott and John Vidal of the Guardian play fast and loose with public health statistics

“The emissions from the power plant are estimated to be responsible for 195,000 days of illness per year, including 35,000 days of sick leave. On an average day, 530 people are ill due to the harmful health impacts of the pollution.

The fact that its pollution has been causing respiratory sickness and prematurely ending the lives of thousands upon thousands of people in Wales and beyond for decades has eluded scrutiny

- supported by quotes from the usual suspects.

I know it's dishonest fantastical stuff - the absence of a comment thread speaks for itself .... bet the BBC picks up this one. ( yup...)

Given other the other dimwitted initiatives from the Welsh Government - I hope we see them shuttering all power stations and powering Wales solely from locally sourced "renewables".

Ross Lea, it does seem that it is lucky they had an 80hp Diesel engine and enough fuelling stops to complete the journey in time.

As a rough guess, I would estimate they were burning about 7 litres per hour to maintain 8 knots in calm water, for a vessel of that size, displacement and hull shape. 8 knots for 24 hours is 192 nautical miles.

Is there any news of their total fuel consumption for the whole trip? They may also have used diesel to heat the vessel even when the engine was off, and diesel fuelled cookers are also favoured on some vessels to reduce the variety of fuels requiring to be replenished regularly.

Dispatches yesterday on C4
Corbyn is supposed to be the new politics
..You'd think that would mean open, honest, caring and uncorrupt.
Yet the under cover filming showed the Corbyn initiative team Momentum being the exact opposite
The lied to the Unite about which group was using the free offices, they moved data from another group breaking the data protection act, appeared to be corrupt in using Labour party money to pay for Momentum work and the org was composed of self confessed Trots (who weren't in the Labourparty until 3 months ago) who indulged in entryism infiltrating local Labour groups to deselect existing MPs
..Yet it doesn't seem to being discussed much anywhere from the BBC to Guido

Watched, confirmed what I thought. Not surprised BBC and MSM ignored, surprised Guido ignored.

This is good:
Telegraph: Welcome to "Momentum Kids", where you can live happily ever after in your own Corbynite dream land. By Tom Harris. Tom Harris is a former Labour MP

@AK, Sep 20, 2016 at 6:34 AM

PCar FYI.
I have never posted as "Alan"
For a very limited period I posted as "Supertroll" after an idiot claimed that single-handed I had destroyed BH
I used to post with my full name but got fed up with having it mispelt, so changed it to "AK".
I changed to "ACK" when I discovered that someone else, over at CE, was using "AK".

I have not stopped posting but have been doing that on a discussion thread, as well you know because you followed me there to continue your quarrel with me.

Dear Snowflake, (aka Alan K, AK, Supertroll)

I did not "follow you there", you imply anyone who posts on discussion is stalking you if they disagree with you.

Nor did I "continue..quarrel with" you. Post you took offense to was not related to Unthreaded.

My advise to you is: "Stay in your pram safe space" and stop the "I'm a victim of...." snowflake whines.

btw: any success with igniting graphite?
