Nobody who gets to that level is a total idiot. I imagine ATTP comes across as an intelligent guy much of the time but over certain issues people can be total idiots. Religion, football, pets and climate change.
Tiny. I'm not defending Nick (my memories of him at UEA are certainly not all favourable). I was merely warning you against dismissing him as an idiot or lightweight - he is neither. But make your own mind up.
So where did he get the +100% man made climate change over the last century? How did he link the 97% to that? Or is all that an embellishment by the New Scientist?
The real thrust of the work is measuring climate change belief and how much different countries are prepared to pay for it. From what I've seen, he hasn't concluded that if you're not prepared to pay, your belief isn't genuine. People are in denial - about their lack of concern.
Tiny. I knew Nick. Don't make the mistake of dismissing him as an idiot. He does (or did) good work on risk assessment.
I ought to have guessed. The paper the story is based on is the work of another idiot psych professor.
Professor Nick Pidgeon BA, PhD. Professor of Environmental Psychology, Director of the Understanding Risk Research Group.
So, how long will it be before warmist climate scientists put him and the New Scientists right?
The New Scientist claims that more than 100% of climate change in the last century was due to man and that 90% of all scientists and 97% of climate scientists think that. WTF?!?
They haven't just jumped the shark, they've made it pregnant and refuse to pay child support.

Laughably poor performance by the Chakrabarti place woman/"Lady".
She looks like a frightened rabbit and talked nonsense.
Ms Chakrabarti, even in "The North" most who want to own a car do. Try leaving your bubble; go "oop north" to see they don't live in the 1950s.
More evidence of Labour's condescending, disparaging and demeaning view of their working class (ex) supporters.

"Ah so what ?"
We all know about Drax, but I read the article in the library using one of those paper versions of the newspaper and was shocked, yes, shocked I tell you, shocked at the propaganda!
When shopping Waitrose, we get the chance to buy a paper 'for free', just spend over £10. If we spend enough, we can get two papers, one each: Telegraph, Times, Guardian, Mail. Sometimes we get the Mail, because it has some good puzzles!
Tomo: oh lor’… Thank you for the warning – I shall get onto a few contacts for another posting out of the country for a few weeks.
Tiny. I admit to two of those - one strongly for, the other against.
