Extinction Rebellion "apologise"

I can easily imagine the chaos .... today.
These gits are getting a free pass from the MSM
The BBC seem to be ignoring it - not even re-running / copy n pasting their mates at GMG's coverage.
Bring on the water sprinklers (cannon mode not required)

I think the Dads Army parody could backfire spectacularly with the right spin.

e.g. Who were Dads Army? They were a group of courageous patriots prepare to sacrifice all to save us from attack from the Continent of Europe which would have resulted in us becoming a colony of the evil dictatorship. I would have been proud to be associated with such a group. We need our colleagues to stand up for the integrity of the United Kingdom and send in the letters. We need a Churchill to lead us into a possible snap election not the current incumbent. So are you patriots like the members of Dads Army or a Quisling or a Vichy supporter.

- and onwards to a fully expensed (including accomodation(flat)and all travel(car)) tax free sinecure in Brussels - nice work if you can get it.
I have met a few of these Brussels bureaucrat folk and while they are pleasant and usually quite sane people - their horizons don't in general seem to go outside the bubble they're in - a small price to pay for such a padded lifestyle. OK - I admit to a smidge of envy ....

More background on that EU lawyer

Lots of interesting responses to my provocative comment here. Due to work I can't give the detailed responses they deserve at the moment. Later, I promise. I'm not just trolling.
But for now TinyCO2 - "The excusing of bad behaviour" - makes a point that I strongly agree with.
However, I'm not sure it's related to immigration rather than a loss of a sense of right and wrong in our society as a whole.
That seems like a different thing.

There was an attempt to bring treason (or something equivalent - there was some arcane legal terminology used) charges against the ministers who signed the Maastricht treaty, but it fell at the first hurdle. I forget the details, but the reason it was chucked out of court was along the lines of government ministers signing things on behalf of the government being exempt. Rowan Atkinson's brother may have been involved in the attempt, if memory serves.

Mark had already written what I wanted to say but consider mine the revision version.
In respect to integration and crime, we have added the continuous erosion of our justice system. The excusing of bad behaviour because people are new/discriminated/poor has encouraged crime to flourish. 'Going soft' has seen its effects from school to prisons. Leadership across the political divides see this as a need to go even softer. Catastrophe.

I agree with that too, but the lack of overall control makes the migrant situation worse because it creates more resentment. We've got a media and left that pumps out the 'you deserve more' and 'Britain was is bad and resposible for the World's ills' messages that also help erode the fairly decent society we'd built up. It's easy for people to be persuaded that they have a right to behave badly, especially if this isn't their home country. Somebody has to be poor in relation to the rest of the country. and migrants swiftly don't think it should be them.
It's wrong to ignore the differences in country's national personalities. People coming from polite, well behaved cultures are more likely to be good migrants. The reverse is also true. Good behaviour is a little like herd immunity, once you get below a certain level of good behaviour, outbreaks are self fuelling. Police forces start to struggle, criminals stop fearing punishment, other people stop seeing a reason to be good.
