That's why the BBC made a big thing about it before it happened. If it did happen, they got the headlines twice. If it didn't happen, they'd still had headlines that people would remember (rather than remembering that it didn't happen).

Careless Whispers about faking Wikipedia's Climate Science entries resurface

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2016/12/25/global-cooling-and-wikipedia-fake-news/

Faking Climate Science, and lying about it. How many faking Climate Scientists does it take to screw up the world anyway? Clearly Trump has decided how many faking Climate Scientists US Taxpayers should be paying for.

Hey no news stories
saying "Warmest Christmas Ever" so it didn't happen
That's why we only get George Pop-it-in-mimouth stories.

OK it is the official swim but in previous years people have had to be rescued.
So it's up to swim club to have insurance and lifefuards.
Yes whatever adrenaline drug you take, it should not be the taxpayer who picks up the tab.

Life is dangerous. Would you ban Rock Climbing ,Motor racing, Rugby Union, etc. I have it on good authority that the drinking follows the sea dip (Purely for medicinal purposes you understand).
Having taken part in the New Year dip in Dover Harbour (once) I can say it is like banging your head on a brick wall; wonderful when you stop. The world is full of overpaid killjoys and jobs worth’s we don’t need any more.

@Pcar Disagree, alcohol and sea don't mix and taxpayers pay for consequences.
Swimmers should only be at swimming club event.

Seafront manager .. Yes its Brighton's main attraction so it needs managing ... Commercial beaches are managed : early morning cleaning , diggers removing debris etc.

Merry Christmas to ye all from a daily lurker.
May 2017 not be too disappointing when Trump turns out to be a puff of wind.

And may we sceptics continue to join together against unjustified actions based on excessive certainty....

The Grinch award goes to Brighton and Hove Council and Seafront Operations Manager* Chris Ingal

Council tries to close off the sea to stop people from taking a Christmas dip

No presents from Santa for you Chris.

*Seafront Operations Manager? What? Why?
Manager suggests there is a Seafront Operations Dept. with supervisors, secretaries, etc.

We need swamp draining in UK, taxpayers are being abused.
