All quiet on the BH front today, so may I plug my blog

on the failed opinion polls of academic 'experts', making the obvious analogy.
Good comments from TinyCo2 and others.
Just watched Kingsman on flight home. Massively good, hard to argue with fictional eccentric billionaire who reasons that the Earth has a fever, like the body it puts up its temperature to kill the viruses (humans in this case) and like the body if the viruses don't die the body will and the viruses will anyway, so why not kill humans (not all of course) because they'll die if the Earth dies anyway.
In the course of this attempted mass murder the villain (or is it hero?), Samuel L. Jackson, uses about 500 teraWHrs of electricity, as far as I can tell.
The Greens will probably boycott the film, reducing its potential audience by 0.05%.

And, as I keep saying, if you want to see the origins of the twin climate scares (cooling and warming) just go back to the early 70s and follow the trail: Strong>Club of Rome>Limits to Growth>Ehrlich, and so on down to where we are now via Agenda21 and "sustainability". I mean, what's not to like about something being "sustainable"???
It's taken them this long to find a pliable Pope (John Paul and Benedict had far too much sense to be taken in). Though they may well find he is not quite as enthusiastic as they would like - the encyclical will tell us - he is certainly their best chance and if they can get him on-side that's 1bn+ that will fall in line. In their dreams!
"Secret plot" might be a bit emotive but there's little doubt that this sort of 'world domination' has been an ambition of the eugenic and neo-malthusian control-freak tendency for over a century so in reality you can go back beyond the 70s if you can find all the links.
Harry Passfield - I very much doubt that Maurice Newman used the words "secret plot." He's no crackpot and that's just not the way he speaks or writes. But, it makes for good copy, I suppose.
What he did say was what many have observed - that a major beneficiary of the whole IPCC juggernaut has been the UN.
This, in the Daily Telegraph, which says:
Climate change is a hoax developed as part of a secret plot by the United Nations to undermine democracies and takeover the world, a top adviser to Tony Abbott, Australia’s prime minister, has warned.is worth a read if only to see that this may well be the first real crack in the dam - although the usual suspects are out to say it's the usual crack-pot.
"Energy - make it bird-friendly!" - UN Says Fri, May 8, 2015
World Migratory Bird Day 2015 highlights the importance of a clean energy future, which ensures the survival of migratory birds.

Although the press down south will hopefully wake up and start holding the SNP/ Sturgeon to account, on FFA, a raft of previous broken promises, not having implemented any 'progressive' policies here in Scotland etc....
There's been a tough of 'Clegg-mania' with Sturgeon, it will be over soon.
I can't help feeling sorry for that 20yr old SNP MP. How on earth will she survive with no friends in that much reviled city, London, miles away from home all week and no ther MPs of the same age to hang out with, in an alien environment (House of Commons) with all it's rituals and rules?
No doubt it will just serve to reinforce her hatred of all things to do with "Westminster" and the need for Scottish Independence.
The Conservatives may have a majority, but the next 5 years are not going to be particularly peaceful. The hard left (including Charlotte Church, LOL) have already started protesting. Did they anticipate a Conservative government, or are they extremely well organised and can rustle up a protest at a moment's notice?
