tomo & Harry Passfield

Trump is looking to put the Climate Budget into more space exploration. Some of the top climate experts could stay close to their budgets, and be blasted into space on top secret missions.

Douglas Adams wrote about the Golgafrinchan B Ark.

It is incredibly important that at least 30 years of climate data should be collected personally by climate science experts on distant planets, before any intelligent form of human life tries to live there.

Tomo. The satellite output is full of errors - it must be because preliminary results fail to match model expectations and thus must be error-strewn. We need more money and no hassling from politicians.

@gc

re Earth Science

I keep coming back to the OCO-2 mission - it would seem to me that observations being studiously ignored..... We are regaled regularly with the observations of Pluto, Ceres and Mars etc.and the consequent public head scratching while OCO-2 bleeps its way monotonously around the Earth unremarked since the observations conflict with "consensus"

I hope one of DT's advisors has the wit to use the lack of OCO-2 analysis as a stick to prod NASA with.

Hey, GC! Maybe Trump's about to give Gavin a NASA salute....like a big 'E'.

Does this mean Gavin Schmidt is going to have to get someone else to adjust climate science?

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/nov/22/nasa-earth-donald-trump-eliminate-climate-change-research

"Donald Trump is poised to eliminate all climate change research conducted byNasa as part of a crackdown on “politicized science”, his senior adviser on issues relating to the space agency has said.

Nasa’s Earth science division is set to be stripped of funding in favor of exploration of deep space, with the president-elect having set a goal during the campaign to explore the entire solar system by the end of the century."

It is in The Guardian, so it must be true.

Seeing some of the 'slebs' being awarded the Medal of Freedom by Obama, I was diverted with the thought that, as UK awards can be added to ones name (MBE, OBE, CBE etc) would the likes of Robert De Niro and Bill Gates be able to add 'MoF' after their names?

and some folk wonder that trust in the media is being eroded?

yeah, well... not much of a surprise

The dead tree crew caught out (again) - far more difficult to catch with the web presences....

@SandyS there are lots of nutters out there so yes I have heard of many specific occasions when supporters of Hillary have done bad things.
However I am not aware of reporting of any times when Hillary has condemned such people .

To be fair when some story first comes out you are never sure if it true or whether its faked from old footage etc.

Do you have examples from other media I can have a look at?
