BBC plastics thing hits Twitter and the Guardian now
It's PR, Not Truth
#1 BBC hype a non-problem
#2 BBC announce themselves as saviours
- Plastics are generally put in waste collection & can be burnt safely as fuel in high temp incinerators
- Tiny fraction of #OceanPlastic comes from Europe 0.28%

@Tomo Well at least today the newsreports only spoke of Jihadism

A different thing is... nutters who have a Nazi flag in the corner of the room do occasionally do violent things
but they are best dealt within the mental health system
..cos they could lash out at anyone

0.2% 0.28% not 2%

Another case where Politicians & BBC/MSM should tell the truth.

1. 0.28% of Ocean Plastic Waste from EU (inc UK)

2. The rivers taking plastic to the oceans

...research, published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology, shows that 10 river systems, located in heavily populated regions where littering is common, carry more than 90% of the plastic that ends up in the oceans. Two are in Africa (the Nile and the Niger) while the other eight are in Asia (the Ganges, Indus, Yellow, Yangtze, Haihe, Pearl, Mekong and Amur).

Think about that. Africa, China & India rivers transport 88–95% of the global load into the sea. Thus: RoW (inc UK, America (North & South), Australia, Europe, Japan, Indonesia, Middle East, Russia, Ships...) are the source of 5-12% of Ocean plastic.

Not a UK/EU/USA problem who are literally a drop in the ocean.

Hence why UK politicians should stop scaremongering about UK plastic and implying ocean plastic is our fault. Politicians & BBC/MSM complain public don't trust them; if they stopped lying and told the truth trust could be restored.

I wonder how many Model 3 early adopters are wondering if it's a metaphor for their deposits?
