A lot of problems arise when a perfectly good prototype is handed to the production engineers.

today’s BBC Look North, Radio Humberside big day of wind turbine promotion.
I posted examples of their tweets on Paul Homewoods blog

Wooden iced lolly sticks and coffee stirrers are excellent for mixing two-pack glues, fibreglass resins, small pots of paint etc. Plastic ones are rubbish and should be thrown away.

OP was an FYI not a debate - don't be so negative; use, review and feedback - OK?

I have not used Brembo parts or pastes, but it is probably an excellent product. Anti-squeal brake pastes need to have very high melting points, and as I mentioned, brakes DO now contain electrical components that involve additional isolation v continuity issues. I was not trying to be negative.

The use by Tesla of aluminium in suspension and steering is not the cheapest option, but has been done for weight saving. Shame the engineers did not think it all through, or if they did, what went wrong between design, and vehicles rolling out of the factory? If the recall was for vehicles manufactured between specific dates, it would suggest a change in material and workmanship specification, that did not lead to an improved product......? Cost cutting? Timesaving?

Yachts tend to be fibreglass, with aluminium masts, but metal fixtures and fittings. Stainless steel screws, nuts and bolts should be used, but many people use them to avoid visible corrosion, ie rust stains dribbling down the shiny white plastic. The bimetallic corrosion goes unnoticed until fixtures and fitting need to be removed.

As tomo confirms, bimetallic corrosion is a problem with Landrovers/Defenders. They have aluminium bodywork on a steel chassis. Simply fixing a Number Plate will cause localised corrosion if fixings are not appropriate.

The doors have steel frames with aluminium cladding, and bubbling paintwork with white dust is easily seen. Many owners screw/bolt all sorts of extra bits and pieces to the bodywork. Even if they are fixed to the steel chassis, they may be in contact with aluminium.

Well known and respected Japanese outboard motors have been "let down" by penny pinching accountants using mild steel nuts and bolts to assemble aluminium/steel components in a highly corrosive environment involving salt water and heat. Replacement with stainless is required (normally with a smear of Duralac!

Brembo and Duralac pastes are different products for different purposes.

Whether amateur or professional, yacht and Landrover fixers SHOULD have Duralac (or similar) amongst their potions. I have a slim lightweight impact driver for removing screws and smaller nuts and bolts that have "seized", as using heat does not always work, and is not recommended "in situ" outside a workshop!

The lightweight impact driver I use is aimed at motorcyclists, who are familiar wit bimetallic corrosion.

SW. What chinese forests? Huge regions are identified as forests by the Chinese, but when examined on Google Earth are revealed as scattered tiny patches only a few percent of the total area.

Yuppy revolt predicted against overbearing government action to ban single-use plastic stirrers. Nero, Starbucks and Pret-a-mange in central London's financial district all report massive raids upon their supplies of the much treasured items. "Like serviettes, we have to limit stirrers one to a customer". There are scattered reports from outlying parts of London, like Westminster, of stirrer raids. A spokesperson, who demanded anonymity, said that the forthcoming ban was unnecessary and would be resisted. "It is not right that those who, all their working life have been able to enjoy the subtle taste of plasiciser when they scoop up the remaining froth from their expresso will now be denied this privilege -all for a few stupid penguins". Pollsters predict massive losses in Tory constituencies in forthcoming London elections. Posters on plastic sticks already have appeared in parts of Kensington (some in Russian) upon this sensitive issue.
