Question: Is the BBC's use of the term 'populist' in reference to Italy's troubles, a pejorative term? Is it unique to the BBC?

Whut?

11M 35S "...The UK doesn't have a M....."
That's news to me - fake news. Shame as rest is OK.

Re: WUWT & Booker
Another BBC biased, scaremongering, green series
No mention of higher prices for everyone, increased CO2 vs landfill/make-new. Incineration dismissed as we must have a circular economy.

How sad. I've been commenting on Fawkes's blog for donkeys' years (under my old nom-de-blog) - as long - longer - as I've been here - and never made what I consider a real contentious comment. Now, even though I want to agree with what Staines has said about the TR case, I find no matter what I say I am modded. What a sad end to a such an iconoclastic blog (given that there were many sweary comments you wouldn't want your maiden aunt to see - that said, I used to comment on The Devil's Kitchen 20 years ago: now, that was a very, very sweary blog - but he made some great anti-AGW posts!)
Staines must have really, seriously been got at. That does not bode well.....

I watched most of that 1 hour TR video and I see at no point him releasing information from inside that court case, that was NOT already in the public domain ..all he did was read out of last month's paper.
That said it is not impossible that some further explanation might arise.
I watched it all and imho he didn't release any information.
If TR did plead guilty, probably because duty solicitor advised him to be contrite & apologetic in expectation of a stern telling off or a temporary restraining order.

@Golf surprisingly the person most in common with TR is the Malaysian political prisoner Anwar Ibrahim who has been promised the next primeminstership within 2 years by the current PM
2004 Living in Malaysia I was invited by someone who was not subject to government pressure to attend a live public meeting with him we sat at the from 3 feet away from him. Most of the other people in the room were Muslims so sat at the back cos they were vulnerable to the secret police around us.
At that time it was illegal for all newspapers to report positively on AI (they are all owned by Malaysian govt parties)
When you listen to the Delingpole podcasts with TR you realise something weird is going on :
He is a not a racist, and doesn't hate Muslims but has big problems with Islamic dogma and groom/rape gangs and is not far-right.
And sure enough when you read today's news every report misrepresents him and says that his prior Kent conviction is for "taking photos INSIDE a court" ...but that is not true

One guy TR has from early on been fighting for justice on the groom/rape gang issue and Muslim terrorist issue
Yet it is those metro-libs who nastily sneer at him that have been negative on those counts

"Robinson was warned he would be sent to jail if he took on contempt of court laws and did anything that could prejudice a trial ever again. He did so anyway. Tommy Robinson is an idiot."

@Golf there was an "IF" then an "IF" in that judges comments
sure the defence might apply for a mistrial, but the judge could say "No , all that info was already in the public domain"
Note that trial has not been cancelled , so so far the judge is saying that trial has not been prejudiced.

Hopefully, the victims and those accused, can now observe and experience Justice under UK Law.
From your Daily Mail link:
"Matthew Harding, defending, said his client felt 'deep regret' after realising the potential consequences of his actions.
He said Robinson thought what he was saying on camera was already in the public domain.
The barrister added: 'He was mindful, having spoken to others and taken advice, not to say things that he thought would actually prejudice these proceedings. He did not try to cause difficulties for the court process.
Mr Harding said Robinson had been the victim of assaults while serving time in prison before and there had been 'a price on his head' during his last prison term with inmates being offered the reward of drugs and mobile phones to kill him.
But Judge Geoffrey Marson QC said: 'No one could possibly conclude that it would be anything other than highly prejudicial to the defendants in the trial. I respect everyone's right to free speech. That's one of the most important rights that we have.
'With those rights come responsibilities. The responsibility to exercise that freedom of speech within the law. I am not sure you appreciate the potential consequence of what you have done.
'If the jurors in my present trial get to know of this video I will no doubt be faced with an application to discharge the jury. If I have to do that it will mean a re-trial, costing hundreds and hundreds and thousands of pounds.' "

He had named defendants in the case, the charges they face and details of the allegations, as well as filming defendants and confronting them outside court.
No. There was no filming of those entering/leaving court. However, BBC et all frequently film, question & broadcast defendants entering/leaving court - some under a blanket, in black maria etc. Plus, names were already in public domain.
TR was singled out for vindictive reasons.
