that Friday lunchtime R4 BBC "Macron biographer" opined that the gilet jaunes were a disorganised leaderless rabble who cut no ice ("of no electoral importance" iirc) in the entire French political establishment including Marine LePen - I was quite surprised that she presumed to speak for LePen.
gc - I was surprised that the dayglo sprouts were out ('tis the season I suppose) - have we missed something? Did the Belgian "government" also whack-on diesel taxes in Belgium?
Gilets jaune
"Police fired water cannon at the protesters and made about 60 arrests, some for carrying weapons, pepper spray and razor blades, a spokesperson said, adding that some activists threw billiard balls at officers."
Am I the only one surprised that they have an over supply of billiard balls in Brussels?
Why is it ok for Police in Brussels to own and deploy Water Cannon?
We and Gilet Jaunes are mere Untermensch
..they are our metrolib masters like the true Aryans

fighting talk from Macron .... one can easily imagine he might be lashing out a bit since things have begun to get a bit pear shaped. The BBC had Macron's "biographer" on at R4 at lunchtime discussing les gilet jaunes - decoded = they're peasants - we'll ignore them and then we will crush them :-)

This has got moonbat and others in high dudgeon .... - anybody seen an effective debunk?

"French President Emmanuel Macron was quoted by AFP news agency as saying he would refuse to sign a trade deal with South America's Mercosur bloc if Brazilian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro withdrew from the Paris climate accord."
That's funny, there was me thinking that with France being in the EU it can't sign its own trade deals. Or does Macron speak for the EU now?
I liked this comment on the Politico article about the Gilets Jaunes in the EU quarter of Brussels:
"By protesting in the EU quarter, the Yellow Jackets are barking up the wrong tree.
Of what use is complaining about high taxes to someone who barely pays tax?"
stewgreen, I've searched the BBC website and they don't seem to be reporting it at all, which is rather shameful. Politico have it here:
"Police van set ablaze as Yellow Jackets protests hit Brussels’ EU quarter
Demonstrators block roads near European Union institutions."

an inversion that works for me.....
If Theresa May had been half as aggressive, disdainful and Machiavellian to EU bureaucrats as she is to the British people, the EU would be paying US to leave and apologising for any inconvenience.

You are getting caught in the class war trap.
People who pay taxes and who do not ( at least direct taxes) cannot adjust national accounts .
They are mere passengers .
The monopolists occupy that cockpit and no one else.
If prices equaled net income most social tension would subside .
However all of the connected corporates would enter bankruptcy.
The disequilibrium in society is off all the charts because of this extreme malice.
