The bureaucrat as green activist. Again.

Chris Horner is pursuing another very interesting line of inquiry into the activities of the US Environmental Protection Agency - one that looks as though it will provide yet more evidence of bureaucrats using their powerful positions to advance the interests of green activists at the expense of taxpayers.
Environmental Protection Agency officials are making an "on-going practice" of "near-immediate turnaround to provide records to environmentalist pressure groups," while imposing "starkly disparate treatment of groups with different perspectives but which are otherwise similarly situated," a conservative think tank charges today in a unusually lengthy Freedom of Information Act request."

I've always suspected that the speed of Temperature Data dissemination is directly proportional to its relativity to Absolute Zero.
It makes more sense once you realise that many environmental activists and bureaucrats are channelling the Kings and Queens of Medieval Europe.
Some really do believe in their own "divine right".
Speaking as an outsider, the EPA is in zealot/luddite hands. It is a de facto conspiracy against the public interest. A marxist might describe it as an enemy of the people. Nothing short of its abolition, the dismissal of all its employees, but since bills of attainder are excluded by the US constituion one cannot go further.
If you really want to get rid of all this mess, just sack the EPA and stop funding to the UN and watch the problems disapear.
As they are part of such a litigatious society surely American lawyers could challenge the unequal treatment of green activists and sceptics?
It sounds like those crusading eco zealots at the EPA haven't yet read the playbook of it's English equivalent The Environment Agency - who simply make up a fee for processing a FoI request that's calculated to dissuade an ordinary person from pursuing transparency. Like I've stated here before we are looking at a bill of £37,000 for about 20% of the work that we paid (a refunded) £1000 for 18 months back.
I must have a word with the Information Commissioner's Office to see if the demanded £37K is challenge-able....
But - yep... petty prince "divine right to rule" is not far off the mark - that divine right thing didn't work out too well for Charles I or Louis XVI. The present blinkered, overstuffed morbid bureaucratic obesity and arbitrary, prejudiced policies of almost all of our public institutions are going to result in a complete loss of public confidence and all that entails.
