Nice one Josh!

However it appears to be missing the "Cha Ching" chapter ring?

It seems that Rupert Murdoch has finally seen the light. On his twitter feed he reckons that carbon dioxide helps build forests and renewable energy is useless.
The only thing is that the sky installation vans still carry a logo boasting that sky is a zero carbon company. Hmmmm.

Bated breath waiting for the thermometer. I'm thinking of all the adjustments, could include knobs, levers, gas burner underneath, a shovel, and of course a crooked needle - or even better, no needle.

It would be matched in appearance to your very fine barometer.

How about the complete set of Pressure, Temperature and Humility?

Here's a conundrum for the National Climatic Data Center.

In March 2010, United States Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen announced that the Polar Star would receive a $62 million dollar overhaul at Seattle’s Todd Pacific shipyard. The United States Coast Guard planned for the the overhaul to be complete by December 2012 and on 14 December 2012, the USCG announced the re-activation of the Polar Star. The overhaul of the Polar Star, completed by Vigor Industrial shipyard (formerly Todd Pacific shipyard), cost US$57 million. The Polar Star will undergo testing in 2013 prior to returning to service.

In addition, the Russians are having three icebreakers built by the Finns. Does that seem like the Arctic ice is disappearing?

In Alaska, the sea ice is early.

That's hit the nail on the head Josh.

Brilliant graphics Josh.

In Orwell's 1984, the party always beat their own 5 year target. Because Winston Smith went back and changed the targets. Mannn made history in action.

jferguson:

You forgot to mention that the thermometer should be shaped like a hockey stick.

Graeme III,
I had thought a round one to match the barometric and Humility indicators suggested above. Maybe the pointer might be a hockey stick.

cheers, : )

Long to Fool over us?
In another joke, did anyone else catch Prince Chuckles on 10:00 News pointing out that his impending status as Granddad strengthens his "belief" that we must try harder to prevent Climate Change?
Vomit provoking.
If Samantha Cameron's dad is trousering £1,000 per day for his few whirligigs, how much is Chuckles miilking from his bird shredders? And how much will he get from offshore? I presume that the Duchy of Cornwall, The Crown Estates etc. aren't subject to FOIA?
But I think we should be told.

"Humility indicators"

I've never seen a warmist with one of those.. :-)

Brilliant cartoon, Josh - you're obviously over the holiday celebrations before me!

People used to rib Roy Jenkins that when he was writing his biography of William Gladstone, he was convinced his subject was Britain's greatest ever prime minister but when he moved on to Churchill, he changed his mind and declared Winston the greatest.

And, come 2013, I think this cartoon is Josh's greatest. I agree with Charlie Flindt that it's worth making up some real barometers with this as their new face. Absolutely and utterly spot on.

I agree with Richard! Has anyone sent a copy to Julia Slingo..?

Makes a very fine 'background' in WIndows! A daily reminder of how far the Met Office has strayed from being a straightforward, honest, competent, gatherer of observations and preparer of weather forecasts.
