Josh:
What a great image!
It is also a very timely reminder. I have to paint the floor in my barn today.!!

Goddamit. You've got to envy people with that kind of talent :p.

Josh,

He's cooked by gosh Josh!

That's entertainment!

I can imagine a rope slithering down from above with a text balloon from Dana calling down "Psst . . . Give me even more of SS and i will get you out"

Josh gets better and better -- the World Atlas was another triumph.....

Mac, what a great idea...

Time to get that first book out the door. By my reckoning, you have enough for two books already.

I shall commend Josh for making John Cook look rather different from some widely-circulated pictures of him I cannot even force myself into linking to (hint: Dot Earth).

Josh, excellent again!

BTW am I the only one who cannot see the cartoon image that accompanies Josh's posts?

All I can see is the hair! Could you hit the return key a couple of times, if you only post a one liner, please?

Sep 23, 2011 at 5:11 PM | Unregistered Commentergolf charley

GC It is a new thing that the Bish has added - I get a Gravatar if I login. I only get hair here too so worth trying again. See what happens.

I got a bit more there by 'revising' the comment. Trying again.

Ta daa! It worked.

Found on ssktepticalscience

Let's not ignore WUWT's demeaning of scientists via that tried and true method, Josh's cartoons. Clever, because they don't show up in text searches and Watt$ maintains deniability. I won't ...

Josh the cunning conspirator and maintainer of deniability!!

Shub,

Thanks for bringing that quote from Skeptical Science (SS).

Think of the seriously unbalanced intellect that SS quote shows. Their unbalanced intellect implies climate scientists of the SS's self-proclaimed noble cause (saving the world) meme should not be laughed at. SS thinks this because they elevate themselves above all those others on this earth who most people make an effort to occasionally laugh at.

SS needs to do a serious self-reality check.

We should always make satire, parody, jokes and cartoons about all scientists (especially climate scientists), our president, government, law enforcement, intellects, each other, religious figures, movie actors, doctors, blog hosts, engineers, lawyers (especially lawyers) and also especially the news media . . . ad nauseum.

But SS would have us believe it is unethical for skeptics to laugh at SS's appointed demigods of the IPCC’s so-called consensus of the so-called settled AGW by CO2 science. Well, one immediate proper response to SS's unbalanced intellect is, "Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha . . . . “

I am intrigued by this thread on SkS
http://www.skepticalscience.com/ice-age-predictions-in-1970s.htm

and the ridicule heaped on "the poodlebites"...SkS and most "consensus" sites operate a system where followers pitch in and beat up contrary views - compare with the free rein that BBD gets here!

Very shiny surfaces, looks like a bit of an echo chamber as well.

Indeed! Their deficit of courtesy, perspective and facts is exceeded only by their deficit in the humour department!

Amazing. Simply amazing.

P.S. Josh ... Love your latest 2 creations :-)

And in the viewers corner-levitated on high due to his unique emission characteristics, the sage who reviewed the HSI without reading it, and knows more than Richard Lindzen, so respected by all, that he authored one of the all-time pillars of wisdom with his trust-debating Guardian article titled 'A case study in climate science integrity'

I am wondering if, given my nationality and Dana "Benito" Nuccitelli''s family name, it would be considered PC to satirize SS by drawing analogies (NOT LINKS!!!) to another XX century dictatorship? For example remembering the immortal (alas!) words: I am making superhuman efforts to educate this people. When they have learnt to obey, they will believe what I tell them.

There you go Josh, your cut-off hairdo problem has finally motivated me to sort out some of my CSS problems.

Bish and Josh, pleased to be of assistance, but........

I can now see the full image in Josh's first post, whereas I could not before.

This makes my subsequent comment seem pointless

Allegedly some dodgy pseudo science blogs use such tactics as a means of ridiculing those making comments

Aussies like Cook and Flannery should be used to having the Mickey (P*ss) taken out of them, it's a national pastime in OZ to satirize those who take things seriously. Must have originated from those uncouth convicts from old Blighty . With this heritage of disparaging establishment and authority, it still amazes me how political correctness and obsessive workplace health and safety have got such a hold of modern Australian culture.

Perhaps we need a new website called " Satirical Science" where Josh and others can let loose with climate humor. The alarmists certainly provide an endless supply of raw material.

Sep 24, 2011 at 5:51 AM | Unregistered Commenterdlb

Heh the fact that you are talking so much about SS, when a year ago "skeptics" were trying real hard to ignore them (maybe they'll just give up) shows that SS is working.

There's Bob rewriting history again. dana1981's been schooling several people, even if results are nothing to.shout home about.

I don't think dana1981 just turned up at SkS. He was either invited, or he invited himself, or he was told to invite himself by Tetra Tech.

Or maybe by the spirit of L Ron Hubbard:

I'm almost inclined to second the motion ... but I really like seeing Josh's creations here (and Fen's links to his latest, as well)

OTOH I quite agree that - in contrast to their customary practice - the alarmists do provide an endless supply of raw data.

My first search on the waybackmachine SkS:

The comments by Poptech disappeared

http://web.archive.org/web/20081219171242/http://www.skepticalscience.com/climate-models.htm

http://www.skepticalscience.com/argument.php?p=8&t=398&&a=15

SkS didn't delete the reactions on Poptech :-)

Love your work Josh.
How about another picture of John backing out of the corner painting over his footprints, doing his best to do a good job, but leaving remants of his footprints. Cheers, Robin.
