More on those commenting problems

A reader has written to advise that he fixed the commenting problem by deleting existing BH cookies.
Hope this helps - nothing from Squarespace yet...

never had problems with this site
but indeed I hv the basic hygiene of clearing out all cookies twice a day.
nothing more irritating then seeing advertisements pooping up on topics you have been surfing for hours ago.
I decided to explore a paranoia theory (is BH blocking me?) by using a proxy browser and basically turned everything off = the BH site worked as expected... I then deleted the BH cookies in Firefox and normal service has resumed for now.
I'm using Opera. Never a problemo, here, and I never delete cookies. I'm running Weenie-DOS XP, Home Edition, Service Pack 3. Regarding cookie deletion, I'm sceptical. Maybe.
I find that I have to have the cookies enabled for BH for the little monks to do their work. But I will try deleting those that exist next time. I still believe that the issue is a server overload. Usually, I simply wait 10 minutes and try again. Keeping the posting on a notebook page with embedded HTML is fairly simple to do. In fact I have a BH.TXT file on my desktop which is use over and over again. Quite simple, actually.
BTW -- have you noticed that the "Recent Comments" column has been frozen for a couple days?
I clean up regularly with Crap Cleaner (free and quick) and fairly often defragment with Auslogics defrag (also free and far far quicker than Windows own defrag - only a couple minutes). Keeps my machine sweet always.
I had problems posting after making changes several times. The only way I managed it was by changing my settings so I used a proxy (and hence came in from a different IP address).
Do you have any sort of anti-spam filter that prevents multiple posting from the same IP address within a certain period of time? It might be it gets triggered by making multiple edits to same post before posting.
