The Tyndall invoices

As we know, the Harrabin/Smith-organised Real World seminars were sponsored by, among others, the Tyndall Centre at UEA.

I have always felt the funding arrangements were perhaps less important than the identities of the people who attended and the fact that the BBC Trust misrepresented them (perhaps unwittingly). However, the funding arrangements seem to have caught the public attention and this prompted me to look more closely at the invoices sent to the Tyndall Centre.

Guess who the invoices were addressed to? It is a familiar name for anyone who has read the Climategate emails.

Here are two of the three (Click for full size)

Professor Hulme, was of course, one of the scientists who was involved in what appeared to be a plot to undermine the peer review process.

@ Arthur Dent: May I defend Ms Abbess, she has a very welcome and open policy with respect to comments on her site. i.e. Like our current host she publishes all comments even when verging on the offensive.

I am not so sure that Jo has an open policy - she hasn't posted the (perfectly polite) comment I made on her ridiculous Green Strawberries thread yesterday. (But she has had time to post 3 new threads).

This is what Jo thinks of Climategate 2.0:

... Look guys, we’ve had the inquiries, the reports, the investigations, the debates. You lost. Get over it. The climate change scientists have done nothing wrong. Start reading the actual science instead of the trumped-up nothing-there scandal.

Global Warming is a fact. It’s caused by excessive human greenhouse gas emissions. Climate Change is real, it’s happening now, and it’s causing damages around the world. It’s going to get worse – much worse – if we don’t have an integrated policy response.

All the recommendations of the economists have failed. All the international negotiations have so far failed. Many of the promises of the technologists have failed.

My dear climate change sceptics and skeptics, we need to pull together to resolve this. All your carping, speculation and stirring the pot isn’t helping. Can you please find some arguments that have a foundation in reality; proposals that can contribute something positive – or just get out of the road – you’re snarling up the traffic of genuine progress.

@ Arthur Dent - you were correct - Jo has let my comment through unmoderated.
