IAC notices McKitrick
Jun 12, 2010 Climate: McKitrick
It looks as though the pressure has paid off. Ross McKitrick has emailed to say that he has now been invited to submit to the Interacademies Council inquiry into the IPCC.
Better late than never, I suppose.
I've also had an email from Marcel Crok, who has also been speaking to the IAC. Marcel's information seems to suggest that McIntyre will be contacted too, so this may well turn out to represent a small step forward.

M & Ms all round! This is good news - people starting to organise their alibis, perhaps.
Good News - indeed!
Thats strange nothing on the IAC agenda to include Ross in the open session! Unless i have missed it.
Can we clarify please are we saying Ross M is making a presentation at the June 15 meeting or just submitting comments?
This is written comments, not a presentation.
Thanks Bish, I’m not quite sure what’s changed as part of the IAC action plan has always been accepting public comments via their web site:-
A critical element of the InterAcademy Council committee’s analysis is the opinions of knowledgeable experts and thoughtful observers regarding IPCC’s processes and procedures for producing assessments.
Please note that although anonymous responses will not be accepted, all names and affiliations will be separated from the responses and will not be made publicly available.
The aggregated written responses to the questions will be made available to the public.
Your responses will be given careful consideration as the committee proceeds with its task.
The deadline for submitting comments is July 1.
Following the original posting I sent a missive to the IAC about M&M and what signal it would send out if these were not consulted. I guess others must have done something similar and the message has got across. But looking at the UK reviews of UAE nothing can be taken for granted. Indeed the fix is probably in already and the UN will make sure the IPCC survives in tact.
Nothing has changed. This a whitewash.
It is clear that the IAC are doing their upmost to prevent IPCC critics from making public presentations.
Submitted comments will simply be ignored.
Having just read the post regarding the IAC on CA, I’m getting really peed off with the BS all these so called Authorities keep coming out with. We seemed to have skipped through the age of enlightenment and abandoned words like democracy and reason.
Anybody recall the cause of the French Revolution and masses on the streets etc I think there was a financial crisis about that time too. It’s about time these leaders started thinking about what they are doing before Joe public reaches a tipping point.
M&Ms are a good start but I would like to see serious consideration by the IAC of Lindzen, Peilke Sr. & Svensmark's take on the sad state of affairs. I also can't imagine that Von Storch has nothing to say(is he involved?).
Unless the IAC involve people like Christy or the above mentioned I only see whitewash. M&M comments alone as crucial as they are - doesn't do it for me.
It is clear that the IAC are trying to protect the 'consensus' in the public mind. That is why they are flying in high profile 'consensus-scientists' to Montreal.
This is just another whitewash.
I did write to them (from your post) that their inquiry would not be seen as relevant if they did not include both McKitrick and McIntyre, but I did not expect anything to come out of it. Maybe your call to write did have an impact!
Maybe the IAC knew this was coming up:

I notice that a certain A W Montford gets a mention for some book he's written about the hockey stick... :-)

It will be interesting to see how they "aggregate" the written responses to their questionnaire. Colour me somewhat skeptical, but it seems to me that the questionnaire has been designed in such a way that it is quite susceptible to spin by the "aggregators".
Consequently, I decided to publish my responses on my own blog - and would suggest that perhaps others might want to do the same.
