Nigel Calder joins the blogosphere

Another welcome new addition to the blogosphere, Nigel Calder's site can be seen here. Nigel is, of course, the former editor of New Scientist and the co-author of The Chilling Stars, a book about Svensmark's galactic cosmic ray theory of climate change.

Perhaps Nigel could let Wikipedia know that he fully endorses your book.
The super omnipresent climate fairies seemed unsure as to whether he did or not according to Wikitalk.

His inclusion of a reference list with links at the foot of each essay, and the wide range in topics, is impressive.

O/T: The Art of Picking Cherries

Praise for Jim Lovelock, as quoted on Amazon:

"I feel I cannot possibly disagree with Lovelock, or with the overwhelming body of scientists who attest to the reality of climate change. If Lovelock is only half-right, then we must have an immediate programme to pastoralise the global economy and reduce emissions. The paradox is that he is completely right, there is not a lot we can do, and we might as well enjoy our beautiful planet while we can."
- Daily Telegraph, Boris Johnson, 2 February 2006

Now read the full article by Boris:

Off topic still, but Jim Lovelock is one of the 'celebrities' behind PopOffsets:

http://www.popoffsets.com/about.php

(the interesting ruse to use carbon credits to fund sterilization programs, among other forms of population suppression)

see:

One wonders exactly what crimes have been committed against these 'celebrities' such that they now have so much hate for their fellow members of the race.

You can't fault Nigel Calder's pedigree. He's seen it all.

Nigel may want to look at this.
Seems the German Der Spiegel has got some secret audio recordings of the Climate Summit in Copenhagen 2009. It appears the rifts between countries are far greater than originally believed and that Obama doesn't take the climate change issue that seriously.

I can only find the report in German and so I wrote up a piece of my own about it in English. I translated the text passages myself (been in Germany 20 years now and translate professionally).
