David Holland on BBC news

UK readers can see David Holland interviewed on the BBC news here. The interview was moderately inconsequential IMHO, although David handled himself very well.

Also in the letters pages of the Times are old friends Bob Ward, the warmist PR man at Lord Stern's Grantham Institute, and Don Keiller, a sceptic academic.

The Channel Four report on the issue can be seen here on their internet TV viewer (which ought to be called the FourPlayer, but is regrettably known as Channel4OD). Their report is clearly from a green perspective, but does at least cheer us all up with a snippet from the Hide ...

I did write to Lord Lawson concerning the partial dead-end caused by the legal position
so I was happy to see the attached pop up on WUWT tonight.

Not due to me, even as a GWPF member, but perhaps the collective 'I don't believe it' that bounced around
blogland.

"if you say you are hiding something, people might also conclude that you are hiding something. Like a decline for example."

Ouch . . that one is going to hurt :)

I've heard that most of it is fairly flat, although it does go up at the end...

ClimateGate on question time, oh and Lord Lawson

The BBC is reporting Prof Beddington as saying "We know that the fundamental physics of the science of climate change is correct". http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8486440.stm. Beddington is a biologist and a specialist in the economics and biology of sustainable management of renewable resources. So who are the "we" that know the physics is correct? Which physicists has he consulted? Certainly not me.

It is obvious from his background why he was chosen to be the government's chief scientist.

There was a report on both SKy and the BBC this morning about the devastating mudslides and torrential rain in Peru.
After listening intently for the ever present "cause of " punch line it eventually came.

It was the weather!

Knock me down with a feather, there is a major catastrophy being reported and not a mention of global warming. Not even the slightest hint of CO2 increase.
Please remain seated as normality will be resumed as soon as possible.

BH, please don't overlook this important story - your take on it is much valued, thanks.

Lord Beaverbrook,

Being in California, I can say that the damage in Peru is due to ocean warming. It is called El Niño. It occurs every four to twenty years and has been studied for a very long time. It caused the same problems back in the days of the Incas, who foolishly lit camp fires at night, caused massive build up of CO2 in South American and thus Global Warming in 2100 BC..

Very sad, really. The damn fools should have froze in the dark. Just ask Al Gore. He discovered it.

John O'Sullivan and your "important post" which you are advertising all over the place:

You are barking up the wrong tree. Norfolk Police aren't investigating "The Climategate Scandal". They are investigating the leaking/hacking of emails. They are not in the least bit concerned with the FOI infringement which is entirely the remit of the ICO.
Also, I presume that you are an American by your assumption that Jones "could get 10 years"? In the UK, these days, murderers only get about 5 years in an open prison, so "fraud" would be community service only, I'm afraid.

I thought murderers got a ASBO notice in the UK.

That bozo at the end saying "There's no diubt gereenhose gases are causing global warming blah blah blah..."
Well, show us the data then!

I thought they banned Corporal Punishment in the UK. Live and learn. Maybe they will whip Jones et al. That would be nice.

@P Gosselin

I thought you understood that the "Science is Settled."

In the UK jails are only for people found guilty of smoking while hunting foxes - or having the thermostat over 17 degrees.

So, to no-one's great surprise, the UEA escapes prosecution on a technicality - the absurdly short time limitation on the offence in question, breaching the UK FOIA.

But I wonder if the same limitation applies to a CONSPIRACY, or an INCITEMENT to break the FOIA?? Both these appear from the emails to have taken place.

Any lawyers care to comment?

I ended up fascinated with the way David Holland answered all questions. I can't understand how he was able to admit he was addict to visit online pharmacy to get sex toys. Definitely he has a lot of nerve.
