Hannan's the man for all that

Everyone is posting this speech by Daniel Hannan - even the American blogs think it's great. Just in case one or two of you haven't seen it, it's well worth a look...

Wonderful oratory, clear and lucid.
The small clip of the PM, squirming and grimacing, almost inspires sympathy for him...
Mind you, I'm 12,000 miles away...

I forwarded this link to a few friends. One of them reckons Dan for Prime Minister, and another has been in touch with our local Tories to try to get our useless wet representative (Theresa May) deselected and Dan selected! Magic stuff. Why can't the senior Tories put it this well?

Amazing - half a million views on YouTube and not a word of it in the MSM.

To be fair, it was fully reported in the Telegraph this morning, and according to Laban (http://www.ukcommentators.blogspot.com/) it was reported in "Today in Parliament" on BBC Radio 4 (long wave) this morning. For non-UK readers of this blog "long wave" is listened to by those in the UK who can't receive FM or digital radio broadcasts or wish to receive some minority programmes (like "Today in Parliament") restricted to LW. I guess it has a listenership in the hundreds - maybe thousands. Thus the state broadcaster gives a nod to "impartial reporting" while letting the original report by Mark Mardell (implying unanimous approval of Brown's speech in the EU parliament and completely ignoring Hannan's contribution) which was broadcast on the BBC's main radio wavelengths and on TV, stand unchallenged and unchanged.

It got a mention on Radio 2 this morning, but only from the YouTube viewing numbers point , no report on content of speech. It even avoided saying it was made directly to Brown, just to the Evil Union.

"not a word of it in the MSM"

Presumably because most of their proprietors hate the EU and/ or have tax affairs they don't want scrutinised. The Beeb has been cowed ever since the Gilligan affair.
