I agree with Ken Livingstone

Ken Livingstone:

The civil service is a malignant conspiracy against the national interest.

How can you possibly be in the Labour party, which tries to expand the influence of the state and opposes privatisation, while at the same time believing the civil service to be a malignant conspiracy against the national interest?

Unless you are in favour of malignant conspiracies against the national interest...?

Perhaps the basic problem with the administrative civil service is that it is composed of essay writers - rather than 'do-ers' - who impose the dead hand of inanition on everything they touch; frustrating everything & succeeding in nothing. They've all got Rolls-Royce brains from Oxbridge, though. Even a Marxist would get frustrated attempting to work through that shower.

...yes, and how can the left wring their hands over child abuse, teenage pregnancies, violence in the community etc when their policies propagate the problems ?
