Redesign

A bit of a redesign has happened. Not too radical I hope?

Let me know what you think.

As a designer of lots of white blogs and sites, I'm with you all the way, but be warned that you'll receive stick from people claiming your site is now too bright and hard on their eyes. Screw 'em if they don't know how to adjust a monitor I say.

Looks great, but not entirely convinced by centred post titles and left-ranged copy!

Thanks for this: it's good to get an opinion from a pro. I was wondering whether to make it ever so slightly off-white just to tone it down a bit. I think I'll see what the rest of the punters make of it first.

As for the centred titles/left ranged copy, I think I like it, but again, I'm open to persuasion.

I like the spacious layout and the date, but if it is possible can you make the blue text a bit darker as I would find it easier to read - currently it is a bit too light against all all the white.

Please not off-white, it will look depressing.

Oh! My eyes hurt. I'm blind. And I'm depressed. The sooner the government bans blogs the better.

Since B. Obama's ascent, Michael Moore has a lot less to write about, and it is rumoured that his next book will be called Stupid White Blog.

Off-white can be done, but it's a tightrope. And very glad you kept the type flourishes on your 'dissident affected...' too. I may agree with the above comment about the blue though, a good point I think.

Great blog, one of my daily reads, keep up the good work.

1. the header is slightly off-color, which is distracting
2. the page is too wide on my screen. I have the horizontal scrollbar of death.
3. I'm also not convinced by centered titles.
4. If, I'm honest. I really have no room to talk after some of my past layouts. Like one based on this image--http://img95.echo.cx/img95/9016/salmaaleft6qj.jpg That said, cowgirl Salma eyecandy is arguably preferable to white-induced blindness. ;)

I like your picture - I had no idea you looked like that!

I've made the content a bit less wide - has that fixed it for you?
When you say that the header is a different colour, is that the header image (which I just carried forward from the last design) or is it the header area around it.

On my browser I have the left most characters in some posts half obscured. Guess it's IE, *spit*, and not you though.

Also I couldn't put my URL in the field. it kept saying [ The URL you provided is invalid (unrecognized format). ]
so I simply deleted it.

I do find it bright but it's OK for me. I just find too much white makes it look empty.

I'll not be fiddling with my settings every time I go to any site. If I find it a problem I'll comment and if it stays the same I'll just stop coming and I would guess others will do the same. Many of course won't comment first.

However it is the content I come for so keep up the good work.

Wait..what? I only wish I looked like Salma Hayek. I would drop my husband in 2 nanoseconds for her.

Doesn't matter what it looks like, Bishop! (it's marginally better but, well, marginal.) What you say is more important.
