Schools have not necessarily much to do with education....they are mainly institutions of control, where basic habits must be inculcated in the young. Education is quite different and has little place in school."

My daughter required a spoonful of medicine every lunchtime but our daughter's school has very apologetically refused to give the medicine as they do not have a "trained" member of staff. The LEA has no plans to hold courses so no schools in my area can give children medicine.
That is a good story!
This exchange with my 16 year old A grade son whist he was doing some science homework. I fear for the future of this country if someone is not able to get a handle on the CO2 nonsense and stop schools teaching these falsehoods, especially in Science. I expect it in geography, but not science. Fortunately my 2 eldest who both got A's in physics and chemistry and are now at University are firm sceptics. But then there is nothing else you can be if you are qualified and spend even the smallest modicum of time examining the CO2 scene.
"Wherever is found what is called a paternal government, there is found state education. It has been discovered that the best way to insure implicit obedience is to commence tyranny in the nursery."
Benjamin Disraeli, British Prime Minister (1874)
"A general State education is a mere contrivance for molding people to be exactly like one another; and as the mold in which it casts them is that which pleases the dominant power in the government, whether this be a monarch, an aristocracy, or a majority of the existing generation; in proportion as it is efficient and successful, it establishes a despotism over the mind, leading by a natural tendency to one over the body."
John Stuart Mill
