The debate over the reality of human induced climate change is steeped in emotion, disinformation and hysteria. Wrong policies could have catastrophic consequences for the poorest people across the planet, and potentially for everyone. This conference brings together specialists in the science of climate, in economics, politics and social affairs. It will enable us to hear opinions of experts in relevant fields and hopefully gain a more balanced view of this controversial subject than much of the media often allows.
Speakers include:
* Prof.David Bellamy OBE, botanist & environmentalist
* James Dent FRMetS, CMet Cenv, meteorologist and hydrologist
* RogerHelmer MEP
* Fay Tuncay BSc Archaeology and Environment, ‘Campaign to Repeal Climate Change Act 2008′.
* Prof. Stephen Bush UMIST professor of Engineering & UKIP advisor on energy policy
* David MacDonald BSc, MSc, MCIWEM
* Prof. Niklas Nils-Axel Mörner: The former head of the Paleogeophysics and Geodynamics Dept at Stockholm University.
* Piers Corbyn: Solar physicist and director of WeatherAction long range forecasting
* Austin Williams: Future Cities Project and author of ‘The Enemies of Progress’
* Philip Foster MA, author of ‘While the Earth Endures’

This looks like the very early stages of a public response to the CAGW doctrine. Very Facebook orientated at present, unfortunately, but hopefully will grow into something that the MSM and government cannot ignore if it is publicised and achieves a volume of support that it deserves..

The EESC president’s statement on the natural disaster in Japan and the Pacific region
11 Mar 2011
Speaker: Staffan Nilsson, Organisation: EESC
"The earthquake and tsunami will clearly have a severe impact on the economic and social activities of the region. Some islands affected by climate change have been hit. Has not the time come to demonstrate on solidarity – not least solidarity in combating and adapting to climate change and global warming? Mother Nature has again given us a sign that that is what we need to do."

Clear link between how developed a country is and how bad it is affected by natural disasters, just something to consider before the EU starts a head long rush back to the stone age.

Did anyone here attend the 'Ask a Green' Question Time Panel in Oxford on 10th March. What happened at it? Were there any interesting questions or answer?
