Steve McIntyre points out that one obvious retort to claims that CRU had been cleared by multiple “investigations” would be to point out that there had been multiple “investigations” (e.g. by Yates) of Wallis and NOTW into allegations of phone hacking, each of which had resulted in their “exoneration”. One of the secrets to the “exonerations” was that the evidence had not been examined.

Episode of Tonight and food shortages on Thursday 21st July had Professor Tim Lang described as a food policy researcher frequently blaming Climate Change for the food shortages and price hikes. Mentioned the huge rise in severe weather events and droughts brought on by climate change. Irony is I was just looking at a graph by Mat Ridley showing droughts to be at their lowest rate for 30 years.
He also restated his belief that we should stop eating meat in the west because diary production takes too much land use. To be honest I had enough of the propaganda and stopped watching about half way throguh but I didn't hear anybody mention bio fules as an issue or any other challenge to what this guy was saying.

I had that George Monbiot in the back once.

Story on the BBC website: Climate change 'threatens peace', UN official warns
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-14229237

Shub N. has been hiding something from us on his blog that, thanks to Donna Laframboise's diligent digging, is now coming to our attention. McKinsey, the management consulting firm, produced a study that examines the cost of reducing our carbon footprint. Behold, they reached the conclusion that it costs real money to do this and the farther you go, the more it costs. They even demonstrate this with a chart that depicts a, dare I say it, hockeystick. What is even more egregious is that McKinsey refuses to release their data, methods, code, etc. leading to an anguished GreenPeace demand that McKinsey release their data, etc. This quote from the GreenPeace press release sums things up nicely: "McKinsey must: 1. Immediately publish all the data, assumptions and analysis underlying the international and national versions of its cost curve and include such disclosures in all future publications." Horrors, are they aware that they are channeling Steve M. et al?

UN annoucement by Ban Ki Moon, East Africa is declared a Famine area, also links it to Climate Change (which is getting worse and affecting millions adversely) and has a planned Security Meeting to cover action required to tackle Climate Change.
Didn't mention bio fuels though, wonder why ?
Desperate stuff

This new report from the BBC about 'skeptics receive too much media balance'......... when I first saw bits out of it, the wording reminded my of the 15-year old identical talking point originating out of an enviro-activist group that was merged with Greenpeace USA in 2000. See: http://www.sovereignindependent.com/?p=23472&cpage=1#comment-315256
Is somebody over on your side of the pond able to tell me if the reasoning behind this BBC report is completely coincidental, with no relations to Al Gore, or the central figure I write about in my narratives on the '96-to-present smear of skeptic scientists, the anti-skeptic US book author Ross Gelbspan?
Considering all I've heard about BBC reporting on AGW, I don't see how they've actually given all that much 'fair balance' to skeptic scientists.
One of the disturbingly unbalanced BBC global warming oddities I found is a 2004-ish Canadian Quirks & Quarks radio program at, of all places, the Abu Dhabi Men's College, http://www.admc.hct.ac.ae/hd1/english/listen/index.htm which is a learn-to-speak English site that apparently got their material from "BBC English: Listen and Read". Go a bit more than halfway down the web page to the "Global Warming Listening Activities" in the yellow highlighted box and its #4 "Global warming listening" to hear the MP3 file for the Canadian radio show - you'll hear no less than an interview of Ross Gelbspan, telling how skeptic scientists are corrupted by fossil fuel industry money!
