Just a pity its not AGW but homeopathy ;)

Looks like WUWT is working ok for me now. Problem has been there for about 24 hours or so.

WUWT is OK here.
Top item just now is "Curiosity – coming to Mars – maybe" dated 25 July 2011.

Thank you for the information.

Is anybody else having problems accessing wattsupwiththat.com? The problems seem to have arisen since the "dying of the thermometers" article. I cannot get the main page to load in IE despite using different versions on different computers.

I have to say, if anyone seems to be doing a lot of presuming around here, it's you - you give a very clear impression of having very fixed pre-conceived idea about my job, personal background and motivations (most of which, I hasten to add, appear to be completely wrong).
Sorry if I don't respond to every point you make, I do my best to answer when I feel able to (ie: if it's a well-posed question on a scientific subject, or an organisation matter if I know the answer - I'm not going to comment on policy or rise to innuendo). Also I don't have time to spend all day on blogs!
I'm not party to IPCC "machinations" as you put it - I'm an author, not a member of the IPCC itself (see their website for the distinction - it is a large an important distinction)
But to answer your question about Tim Palmer, yes this is the same person, and I don't know why he's a Review Editor not having been nominated by the UK govt in the first place. I do know that it's actually quite a hard job to fill all the positions with people with appropriate expertise, and also things happen outside anyone's control (eg: the sad and untimely death of Steve Schneider, who was going to be a CLA on WG2). I don't know, but maybe not enough people with the right expertise were available from the nominations list and they had to invite Tim personally, or go back to UK govt for a further nomination - but this is only speculation, I really don't know.
However I think you should be pleased to have Tim there - he's actually quite a strong critic of climate models and their ability to make credible forecasts. Have you read any of his papers? I know he gives the Met Office a hard time sometimes! But that's fair enough, he can back up his opinions with evidence, and we can respond in kind.

There you go again, presuming this and presuming that.
Thank you for the information about the LAs.
Everyone here will have noticed by now that you either deflect or ignore difficult subjects.
In July last year His Grace unearthed this DECC document:
http://tinyurl.com/6zm4unb dated 24 March 2010 - see thread "Our best people" dated Jul 17, 2010.
According to IPCC document http://tinyurl.com/3jhqkpb dated 15 January 2010, the closing date for nominations was 10 March 2010.
There is no mention of a Tim Palmer on the DECC list and yet he appears on the Final Author list for AR5 WG1 dated 24 June 2011 as a RE for Chapter 11, nominated by the United Kingdom.
Also, a Prof. Tim Palmer of Oxford University appears as a signatory to the 2009 Statement; is this the same person?
If so, then the body count of persons on AR5 WG1 with strongly-held views is rising at an alarming rate.
Can you help me, a layman, with the difficult subject of IPCC machinations?

I hardly think Richard Betts is responisible for the whole of the IPCC failings!!!
Similarily when Judith Curry initially started to engage, atWUWT, etc she received an amount of pent up frustration that bordered on the impolite, as a visible establishment scientist. Could people calm down and not make it so personal.... And their speaks some who got a bit grumpy with R Klien on twitte yesterday.. a misunderstanding, partly caused by Sunny Hundals awful piece about Melanie Philipps at the Liberal Conspiracy ref Norway
