From the company whose CEO told us we should expect our electricity to become exclusive - you can have it when we say you can have it! NG does like the intermittent renewables that enhance its interconnector business. I wonder how France generates all that 'cheap power', don't bother....

National Grid profits rise as UK imports cheap French power

" Profits at National Grid rose 6pc to £4.1bn last year as the company benefited from Britain importing cheaper power from France.

The utility giant, which manages Britain's gas and electricity networks, said that a "strong performance" from the French interconnector cable contributed to the rise in group adjusted operating profits, which was in line with analysts' expectations.

Operating profits from its 2 gigawatt undersea power cable rose 19pc to £123m, as the "high power price differential between France and the UK in the first half of the year" meant companies were willing to pay higher fees to use the interconnector to buy cheap power from France.

Profits from the UK electricity transmission business fell by 5pc but gas transmission and distribution profits were up by 11pc and 6pc respectively......"

EM, so if you are so confident that insolation is not the basic flaw with climate models, have you worked out what is?

With the hundreds of millions being pumped into false modelling, and the billions being wasted on the consequences, you could save the world from this insanity.

As Grant Foster and Rahmsdorf have dedicated their work to Mann's Hockey Stick, it seems they have boxed themselves into the corner of irrelevance, or worse, George Mason University's

Alan Reed, that is despicable. It is the cruel lack of humanity shown to vegetables, with some people actually eating them raw.

I have recovered now, but at school, the appalling technique, especially reserved for brassicas, of boiling them to death for days at a time, really put me off, leaving a bad taste in the mouth, and a nasty stench.

To this day, some people remain convinced that Halloween is the warning, to get brussel sprouts on the boil by Guy Fawkes night, in the hope they will be ready to eat with the Christmas turkey.

Stewgreen. I was led to.believe that BH was a site that welcomed dissent, that did not behave as sites that support alarmism. Yet you repeat a trollism about EM from Hunter, something repeated and used to describe me by Dung. I am surprised.

Car manufacturer: our computer modelling says that this Electric car does 300 miles on one 15 minute charge at 240V and 5A

SandyS: the one I've got does 30 miles on one 3 hour charge at 240V and 15A

Car manufacturer: our new improved computer modelling with added cloud cover says that this Electric car does 250 miles on one 20 minute charge at 240V and 5A

SandyS: the one I've got does 30 miles on one 3 hour charge at 240V and 15A

Who am I going to believe, the honest and upright car manufacturer who has nothing to gain from bending the truth or my own lying eyes? Why do I need a counter theory and computer model when their model is so far away from reality? I just meed to know the model and data don't agree.

BTW I don't have an electric car because I believe some other people's more trustworthy lying eyes rather than manufacturer's manufactured data.

Why can't I use the Sir Patrick Moore (the one with the monocle) very honest position of "We just don't know"?

I became a strict mineralist the moment I saw the dreadful conditions which vegetables were forced to endure. Strung up in rows, fed on muck, plucked in their youth, artificially fertilised, drenched in hormones and often kept in the dark.

Re : Tamsin on Inside Science
BBC Science editorial policy seems to be that each science program must contain a climate scare story of the week. And that they must go for the most extreme angle.
" Dr Tamsin Edwards of the Open University joins Adam Rutherford to help us unpick the research."= "Helps us weave propaganda"

- another prog Science in Action
But this week a change they actually did a non-anti-fossil fuel article Farming and Air Pollution

In some parts of the world, the worst types of particulate air pollution, the sort of thing that causes around 7 million deaths a year, are due not just to belching engines and factories, but to agriculture. And in certain parts of the world, agriculture causes more pollution than all other anthropogenic sources. This is suggested by a Susanne Bauer from the Earth Institute of Columbia University New York and colleagues in a paper this week published in Geophysical Research letters.

Quote
"So we see that EM is merely a pathetic long winded execrable strumpet thinking he is superior, but is really just a banal example of miasma.
For EM, a paradigm is simply an excuse for him to stop thinking and to go into echo chamber mode, which is facilitated by his confusion of the terms "open mind" and "empty mind". "

I would have no objection to a sceptic going onto Inside Science ( scientist or not) if, you had something useful to contribute; genuine scientific evidence of your own or a credible alternative hypothesis.

Hypothesis for what?

What is your hypothesis for the MWP and LIA? If you don't believe in AGW, why are you quoting Grant Foster?
