A Tesla Model S has burst into flames during a test drive in the southwest of France. Four people were in the car, including a Tesla employee; they all escaped safely before the car was "totally destroyed" within five minutes of the fire starting.
- Tesla thought it had fixed previous fire problems by strengthening the shielding of battery compartments.

Teslas BURN lots of subsidy money aswell
..and delivery time promises.

golfCharlie. Pleased to hear your relatively good health news. I am particularly sensitive to matters chemotheraputic since my wife suffered from four years of it, the side effects getting progressively worse till she succumbed to her breast cancer. You have my profound sympathy, whether you want it or not!

I don't usually even listen to Countryfile, its presenters and their antics usually turn my stomach. I saw the piece on the oakwood only because the wife changed stations to watch the following programme. As to the Guardian, as I wrote I usually ignore the climate stuff, but sometimes slum it, just to see what the enemy is doing or to see how ludicrous they can be.
Please step.up the bonkers quotient when you are feeling less fuzzy.

I have never listened to my Sunday roast - what strange habits you have in deepest Hampshire.

ACK 3:58 I am doing the Haematology practical revision course at the moment. Mild chemo is a bit of a fluzzy headache! It has been on/off all of this decade, and will be for decades to come (hopefully)

I am not too bothered about the newspaper that anyone reads, or their politics, but when it comes to Climate Science, The Guardian are the biggest purveyors of lies, misinformation, propaganda in the country, and have a worldwide reputation for it! The BBC are surprisingly eager to report Guardian stories, and as a Country Bumpkin, I find some of Countryfile's slant on rural issues to be appalling. I am happy to cook a sundays roast during Countryfile, and perhaps listen to it, rather than watch.

I do not intend to go on about it here (there are Forums on the internet which I can't be bothered with) but haematology for me is a blood test. An electronic box of tricks analyses, and spews out loads of numbers, noting any changes and/or trends. A Haematologist then determines what if anything needs to be done. I accept this "diagnosis by spreadsheet" I can trust the previous numbers, I tend to be aware when something is not right, weeks before I do a blood test, even if I do not know which numbers on the spreadsheet will "prove" it. I trust the Haematologists, their science etc.

On the other hand, I do not trust any numbers, past or present, produced by Climate Scientists. I did once, but not any more. I therefore have no faith in their diagnosis, I can not sense any problem that needs to be fixed, and see no logic to any proposed cure.

ACK, thanks for your concern! I have got chemofluzzhead at the moment, but my thought processes are no more deranged than ever. Allegedly........

The Times : "National Grid will reveal the winning bids this week for one of the world's biggest battery storage projects"
They think 200MW is big *
But do use the word "intermittent renewables"
but also claim they supplied 25% of electricity last year...that is a skewed figure cos it includes biomass etc. but not all the losses causes by solar and wind.

* Dinorwig pumped-storage hydroelectric is 1,728MW
and Cruachan is 440MW

Dung. I'm quite aware that tomo's comment was not directed at me personally. Just having a bit of fun at his expense. I read bits of the Guardian (less and less) because I can't stand being preached at by right wingers. I don't always agree with what I read and I usually avoid anything about climate like the plague. Much of the right wing dross here at bh I also tend to skip.

ACK

There are few if any Guardian lovers on BH and so I think I can say with certainty that tomo's comment was not personal ^.^.
You are of the Liberal left and so the Guardian would be your fave journal I guess?

golfCharlie.
I have noticed over the last weeks that you have become much more serious and far less "bonkers" almost restricting your humour to hockeysticks or the infamous 97%. I miss our exchanges. Is the reason the various attacks on those interchanges, directed at me but obviously with fallout impacting you? Or is it a refection of something more serious - bad news about your health perhaps?

tomo. Nothing really new here. Before 1939 it was the establishment, especially the extended monarchy that got the free ride. The fourth estate has rarely been independent and panders to power. Today climate nutters have the power and actively keep opposing voices quiet or subdued.
