Entropic man: to clarify for you what I understand Paul Gaston was talking about – the latent heat of the two principle components of the atmosphere, nitrogen (N2) and oxygen (O2), and the latent heat of carbon dioxide (CO2), means that there is insufficient energy extant to enable the tiny, tiny quantity of CO2 (0.04%) at large to raise the temperature of the atmosphere by any significant amount. The source and amount of energy is utterly irrelevant.

ROSS. might I say that your (former) MP has sent you a near perfect, and presumably quick, reply. What do his (her?) opponents say?

To clarify; I am not in favour of arming the general public, I think our strict gun laws are about right though they need simplifying and updating e.g. having a national firearms register and an agency for licensing independent of the police many of whom are not well versed on firearms. However I am in favour of disarming the criminal classes.

golf charllie, Pcar. Here is the text of an email I sent to my MP

To face up to the current terrorist threat it is time to arm all police officers with side arms as is the case in Northern Island. The threat here in the rest of UK is every bit as bad, if not worse, that N.I., There were 4 police officers on the spot one was stabbed. Had they been armed their injuries and many lives would have been saved. The situation has changed we must respond.

The reply "You may be right about arming the police sadly. They will tell us if that is what they want and if they do I shall support them"

PCar. I'm not overly doctrinal, whereas yourself....

The Zero Hedge quote mentions the guns. American gun supporters don't seem to grasp that the reason that only 7 died was because the terrorists didn't have guns either. Ditto the first attacker two months ago. A gun wouldn't have stopped the Manchester bomb. It wouldn't have stopped the 7/7 tube bombings.

If I am in the car, Radio 2 is normally on, but for the last month have not been out much until mid afternoon. I have missed much of the Vine coverage of Trump, Corbyn, May etc. I generally find his show informative about what is currently considered to be Progressively Correct. It is not always a relaxing experience.

Informative yes, but I do not agree with Mark Steyn calling for the relaxation of UK gun/firearm legislation.

When? I've rewatched and not heard Mark Steyn say that.

Mark Steyn: We're not being honest about the nature of the enemy

This is a Real Story from The Guardian, I hope that what they are reporting now, continues to be true. It would be Unprecedented.

...That's [murdered in prison] what happened to young hooligan Kevin Crehan

...and almost happened to Tommy Robinson. Then Gov't tried to prosecute him for saving his own life as he hurt the RoPs trying to murder him.

.
@AK, you're rather silent. Reluctant to adhere to left doctrine?
