BBC main news last night included items on 1) Buckingham palace police attack, 2) N. Korea missiles, 3) Rail disruption, 4) Hurricane Harvey preparations 5) Guru rape case riots, 6) Brussels stabbings, 7) Police prioritizing vulnerable + comment on self driving lorries and sports items. I wonder which PCar (his 12.48am.post) would leave out or reduce coverage of in order to get his prime items into the programme. Remind me what they were again. Oh yes A) a US marine is fed up, B) Philly AutiFa [Philly who?) and C) Poland feuding with Macron about costs of makeup.
I think the BBC probably got it about right.

Re: Electric Superchargers.
As I understand it, the electric drive provides a boost function when the turbo(s) are spinning at low revs. This overcomes the typical turbo lag. Once the turbo spools up the electric drive cuts out. The aim is to get the immediate response of a mechanical supercharger with the better fuel efficiency of a turbo. Audi use it in their top models and it has been taken up by Bentley for their SUV.
Going the other way, harvesting electrical energy from a turbo is part of the horrendously complicated engine concept now used in F1.

Switch on bingo
- Oh it's a woman on a Texas island talking about hurricane
- Oh she's being fed a question "So what do you think about Al Gore saying these extreme weather events are coming more common and stronger ..."
"Oh yes sea level rise is real" (who says it isn't ?
Seems she just happens to be a Democrat councillor

odds on me switching on and it being a Republican skeptic ?

The same clip minus the Gore question was then used on the BBC radio Lincolnshire News

10:30am WTF Now on radio 4 another prog about cross dressing, ..oh it's actually supposed to be about the war
"Although there was a widespread expectation that war would cause society to return to Victorian ideals about the roles of men and women, instead it started challenged traditional norms."

Pcar

so 9 hp for that Audi system... that seems quite modest really and actually quite an achievement..

Thanks for the link - I had seen a mention previously but didn't recall who was "at it"

...which means that drive power required is in the tens of hp for even a small engine and essentially way beyond the capacity of any normal car electrical system....

Yep :)

...The 48-volt system used by Audi lowers the amperage needed to provide that to a manageable 145 amps, something that would be impossible using a conventional 12-volt system, which would need 583 amps...

Although 145 amps DC doesn't sound easily manageable to me.

I foresee a lot of garage mechanic deaths when this & hybrids become more common in second-hand market. Then more laws, regulations, certification = barriers to entry & higher prices.

No it's more a question of I don't like spicy food , so spicy food should be banned, and although I don't eat the stuff I will continue to comment upon it negatively.

Abysmal rebuttal argument along with your usual misrepresentation.

I'm forced to "buy" BBC spicy food I don't want if I want other TV Broadcasters food I like.

BBC "Banned"? Who/when? Privatised/broken-up/scaled back is not banned. Perhaps time to crawl back into your safe-space and contemplate.

British front gardens are a massive waste of space and tarmac as well
Most other countries don't have a front garden.
Seems their only main purpose is that they shield your front room from street noise.
A better use of space would be to stop having garages at the side and have a sunken garage/workshop right at the front
..so that your front room can take light from high windows.
