Talking about virtue signalling and cost - I finished off my August 2017 FoI with Camden Council in London about their 2 road tow hydrogen fuel cell ultra clean electriketey generators.
They haven't a record of how much they cost to buy
They don't have a record of usage and costs
They have only one left ( second one seems to have disappeared!)
The FoI was handled by the housing dept....
I estimate that the sets were likely £50k++ each with gas refills likely absolutely eyewatering - if Bristol's "hydrogen ferry" is anything to go by. I'd wager that the council web pages relating to the matter will end up in the recycle bin.

- One that builds planting bottle acceptance vending machines
- Another that forges fake plastic bottles
Loads of money
Of course what should happen is that restaurants should have a £5/meal service charge
so they don't need to sell you expensive bottles of coloured water to make back their building/rates costs which is actually their biggest cost.
There's probably a word for this displacement of costs/charges.

Loads of virtue signalling and self promotion but the answer for almost all of the crew seems to be tax! and ban!
I cannot help thinking that if they eased the tax regime around recycling it just might turn the mountains of rubbish around the country waiting for a handy moment to spontaneously combust into a commodity worth actually turning into viable products that people actually bought and used.
There was a company trying to set up a large scale plastic recycling business with some novel, patented techniques a while back that couldn't get fully funded - the business case seemed pretty good but the banks simply wouldn't lend to them (well they would lend - but only if the company deposited the amount in question with the bank which would then deign to lend it back.... really!)
One might think that some of the cash rich NGOs might engage practically in all this - but no....
