The British Deplorables?
“We basically have not changed our stance on Britain leaving the European Union,” she told the assembled journalists. “In fact, we deplore it.”
Translated: Germany deplores the potential loss of UK paying £12 Billion net PA to boost Germany's economy.

yes and no...
Doublespace got some hot lawyers and it cost Bill loadsamoney (I have a $45 million figure in mind - but I might be wildly wrong) - it didn't help that if you used a hex / binary viewer to look inside the comression driver executable there was a plain text copyright notice :-)
I thought it was particularly shitty of Bill and the crew - as they were going around small software houses with nifty products at the time and adding features to MS-DOS - in a "partner with us" sort of a way. They reviewed the disc compression software and handed it back with the comment - "ah.. we can do it in-house it's not as difficult as we thought"
iirc the guys at Doublespace gave up writing software and went on quite a self indulgent binge like lottery winners.
Somebody at Microsoft signed an NDA with Doublespace - just to button it down :-)
Not the worst bit of MS behavior though - Gates and Ballmer getting overheard by Paul Allen plotting how to cheat him out of his share of the company when they discovered he had Hodgkin's disease is probably the pinnacle....
Is DEFRA in charge of Kyhgistan Energy Policy also ?

... irritating that I'd have to pay £1 /month just to be able to make comments
That sounds like Saint Richard Branson driving his van full of records
to Holland and reclaiming the VAT and then driving back with them
but that was OK cos he paid £60K in back taxes for that

I remember back in the day when Microsoft got caught bang to rights doing *actual* software pirating with MS-DOS 6

"plate tectonics is set to Ice Age" - what stupidity is this?
Entropic
The other effects you mention are purely speculative.
I had to smile at that comment when talking about climate "science"

For an Ice Age you need to be able to form and maintain ice at both poles. That means land at the pole that a permanent ice cap can sit on(Antarctica) or an ocean at the pole sufficiently enclosed by land to block warm ocean currents( the Arctic).
Antarctica has been more or less in place for about 34 million years since the end of the Eocene.
The current Ice Age began about 3 million years ago when plate tectonics moved the North American and Eurasian plates into positionaround the North Pole.. The Arctic became enclosed at the end of the Pliocene.
