I recently heard that the CRU of the UEA is quite substantially funded by both BP and Shell. Is this true, and, if so, does this now invalidate whatever they say as they are obviously Big Oil shills?

"Laurence Krauss" founder of doomsday clock
is suspended whilst under inquiry for predatory behavior against women.

I presume he's an alarmist.
He wrote "Climate change deniers are not skeptics."

Until January the Times DieselsRpaedos team had page 6 almost every day.. Then a hiatus
But 2 stories on pg 4 today

'Even safe pollution harms children's brains"
Monica Guxens claims even EU limits are too high
Sample of 873 Netherlands kids MRIed claim NoX and soot effects show in babies brains
Rules
- Correlation is not causation
- one study doesn't count unless properly replicated multiple times.
Quote "The is no safe level of pollution"
That statement sounds bollox.

Then they also run CarbonPants pants study "UK emissions at 1890 levels"
PR not science.

Good Energy isn't the only eco retailer that's lying it's face off. The fact that "100% renewable" is being offered by a number of outfits looks like a false claim - in some (all?) cases swerved by conflicted, badly worded small print.

@Rhoda BBC News Switzerland TV licence: Voters reject plan to scrap fee
How you learn of BBC news
#1 Story selected for BBC banging on ..ef it's a pet project like hate against Trump/Farage/Brexit
#2 Stories put on the website normally
#3 Half buried stories ..eg stories that challenge the lib agenda but are not suppressible
eg Thursday morning a story about the Labour Antisemtism on Facebook was on the BBC Politics page
but after a few hours it was removed , so no new people could easily get to it
Likewise groom/rape gang court verdicts are confined to LOCAL news
#4 True Suppression ..like the way in 2015 the Daily Mail reported there was some sleaze about Brendan Cox, but BBC kept that back until 2018

@rhoda Re BBC
These people live in a bubble
The current UK sociological context is is that education & media both seem *liberal-establishment* ..so that sets the rules
ie teachers /journos all seem to be lib/lefties
& if you are not lib/lefty, then you are not so free to express your views and have to stay in the closet.

Couple this to "2+2=5 certainty" and the libs/lefties give themselves Licence to lie
BBC007 Licenced to Lie
..hence the way everyone knew about Brian Coxes sleeze but the BBC kept it off air, for the public good

Land crabs yes!
But what about land lobsters? Rock Lobster just leads to the B-52s.

From Wikipedia:

"Clawed lobsters are not closely related to spiny lobsters or slipper lobsters), or to squat lobsters. The closest living relatives of clawed lobsters are the reef lobsters and the three families of freshwater crayfish."

"Lobsters live up to an estimated 45 to 50 years in the wild, although determining age is difficult."

"Lobsters are found in all oceans. They live on rocky, sandy, or muddy bottoms from the shoreline to beyond the edge of the continental shelf. They generally live singly in crevices or in burrows under rocks."

unanswered message on Good Energy's FB page
"Julia, clarify to us of your husband's involvement withSanjeev Gupta in his promotion of his Tidal Lagoons,
of which Good Energy is also a backer"

Husband is Mark Shorrock ..who's tracked by Private Eye magazine

I spot a claim "Well, you could cut around 24% of your carbon footprint just by switching"

@Tomo So @ASA_UK are pathetic as usual
Corp breaks the laws , gains some advantage
ASA shift their ass made a judgement on Feb 28
Corp makes an excuse ..no consequences
And if they are Greenpeace still keep the false claims on their Facebook and twitter

A Good Energy spokesman said:
“However, it can sometimes be difficult to manage *simplicity against detail* so we welcome the ASA’s guidance regarding how to give consumers greater clarity, particularly in an industry that isn’t always simple.
“We will take this ruling as an opportunity to extend our efforts at transparency further and provide wider clarification and look forward to seeing how it is applied not just in renewables, but across the energy sector.”

FFS the simplicity is that Magic is not possible
There is no such thing as zero CO2 electricity
cos The standard is full life cycle .. so you have to include the infrastructure CO2 ..eg concrete bases, boiler steel etc.
Never mind that the running CO2 is not zero, cos fossil fuel trucks transport woodchips, windfarm maintenance boats , even solar farm maintenace.
