Academic ‘Brexodus’ Fails to Materialise as EU Profs Flock to British Universities

‘Project Fear’ has been dealt yet another blow as a threatened ‘Brexodus’ of EU academics failed to materialise last year, with British universities attracting foreign staff in even greater numbers.

5,416 EU staff did leave the United Kingdom in 2017, but 6,801 new staff arrived — a significant net increase, and a rise in recruitment of 25 per cent on the previous year.

Same as NHS, more EU employed than leave. Labour & Remoaners never quote net, only leave.

Polish Immigrants Returning Home Cite Fear of Terrorism, Anti-White Racism by Black Brits

Polish migrants living in and leaving the United Kingdom for their native country have cited concerns about life in contemporary Britain, with issues including economics, anti-white racism, and terrorist attacks.

Polish leaving Khan's Londonistan may be more accurate.

Poll Finds Immigration and Terror Top Issues for People Across Europe

The top two issues facing the European Union (EU), according to voters in Britain, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and Lithuania, are immigration and terrorism.

The only nation where another issue occupied one of the top two spots, according to a new YouGov poll, was Italy, where they were immigration and unemployment.

Hmm, what will EU reaction be to their people's top issues?

Macron, Merkel Call for ‘Full Force’ EU Integration, Vow Brussels Won’t Tolerate Resistance to Migrant Quotas

Emmanuel Macron has demanded closer and faster EU integration towards a superstate, in a speech where he vowed to “yield nothing” to conservative eastern members which believe in a Europe of strong nations.

The French president urged Brussels to move full speed ahead on monetary union and creating a single foreign policy and defence strategy for the whole bloc.

Angela Merkel also repeated previous calls for a new EU migration policy based on “solidarity” across the bloc, insisting that closing the border to people from the third world was “not a solution”.

No surprise, EU reaction is ignore voters and carry on regardless. AK will be pleased

2 Greens have got Apple to abandon plan for huge data centre in Irish Forest and build it in Denmark instead.
The other 6,000 local people are annoyed at the court case.

Close, but not quite - it's worse:

Apple planned to build 2 DCs in both RoI & Denmark. Both projects started at same time. Denmark 1 is now up & operational. RoI 1 zero progress. RoI 1 & 2 mothballed.

However, not as bad as UK: Silvertown Tunnnel project started 2003, final approval 10 May 2018. Then there's Heathrow R3

Terrible news for Australian Climate Scientists. Some of them will have to find honest employment.

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/05/11/aussie-clisci-budget-woes/

"Australian climate scientists are whinging about the newly announced Federal budget for 2019.  Who can blame them?

The total to be spent on climate-related research has been reduced to the abysmally low sum of AU$1.6 billion for the next fiscal year which begins 1 July 2018. [Yes, that is billion with a B].

While 1.6 billion Australian dollars (just over 1.2 billion US dollars @ today’s exchange rates) may seem like a lot of research money for a country that doesn’t have the necessity of maintaining fleets of satellites or ocean-going research buoys, but it is a very sharp reduction from the AU$3 billion they were allotted  for the current year."

Looks squarely aimed at Tommy Robinson actually. It would be fun if some public figures got a few comments in - but a turgid 114 pages looks designed to bog down anybody wishing to challenge this shit.

There's a slew of officialdom that want to bring back seditious libel.

Yep, hence my title: UK Gov't responds to "Day For Freedom"

114 Pages and this buried way down in Section 7 between the other less important sections.

@Mailman ,May 11, 2018 at 10:24 AM

My concern is with the word "PERCEIVE". .

Yes, yet another subjective law where anyone can "Feel", "Perceive", "Think" or even "Believe" a word, opinion or thought is "Wrong".

The intolerant Facist Left strikes again.

.
Meanwhile DoE is pushing through a law to ban Unis "No platforming" speakers as free-speech & open debate is vital.

Gov't jailing Gov't?

It's here too now

Related: Whatever it says on the brass plate outside the door, the number one priority of every public body is the ruthless imposition of the ‘equality and diversity’ agenda.

Antonia Romeo, the department’s handsomely paid Permanent Secretary, gave the game away in an official announcement to staff.

She was publicising the launch of a new LGBT Mentoring Programme, for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. ‘Fantastic example of the brill DIT team working to make the department the most inclusive in Whitehall. Love is great.’

The only point of the DIT is to negotiate trade deals with countries such as America, India, Australia, China and South Korea, ready for when (if?) we leave the EU. It’s not there to ‘mentor’ gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders.

"The only point of the DIT" - yes, 100% correct. DIT should not be a crèche or support group.

So the BBC assert that a particular policy needs implementing just cos "proponents of the circular economy say"
But it's not there job to tell us how to behave , the maths may not work out that way
e.g.burning plastic at final destination maybe more eco than collecting it all up from all parts of the UK and sending it back to the one factory in China.

China stopped being bribed to take UK, Aus, EU plastic Jan 2018 - hence tomo's ref to shipping containers

Also:
Greenpeace Insists Recycling Uses More Resources – So Let’s Stop Doing It, Eh?

Waste: burn all in generator or landfill all, sorting costs more than value of recycled removed. Automated remove iron/steel (easy) may be profitable and if it is a waste company will do it.

Glass: dump in sea, it becomes sand again.

It's same stupidity as banning waste oil heating. Cost irrelevant, must worship green religion.

.
@tomo, May 11, 2018 at 9:11 AM

I am constantly surprised at the numbers of notionally rational people who are now convinced that "recycling" by expending several times the value of the original item to transport + process it into something that nobody wants and isn't worth anything much is a sacred duty...... the B Ark effect made flesh.

Brainwashed by Gov't & MSM thought police and Stasi Gov't fines for not recycling.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Why is it that so many prominent environmental campaigners turn out to be such scumbags, sleazebags, hypocrites or frauds? by James Delingpole

Why is it that so many prominent environmental campaigners turn out to be such scumbags, sleazebags, hypocrites or frauds?

The latest to be exposed is, of course, New York’s ex-Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

When Schneiderman wasn’t busy – allegedly – “choking, beating and threatening”  women, he was busy bullying the people he calls “climate deniers”.

Moslems assume that all Christians think the same way too! There are many different doctrines within both Sunni and Shiite thinking, before political economic and military rivalries

Rightly or wrongly, Climate Science was supposed to wean the World off oil, and reduce the power corruption and influence of oil money. This has been a resounding failure.

Trump wants to wean the US off imported fuel, but still needs it. The EU's attempts to wean the EU off imported fuel have been a resounding failure, as demonstrated by Germany's deals with Russia.

It is all a huge mess, and faked up climate science has made it worse. As Trump ignores Climate Scientists and their worries about CO2, he has taken a deep breath, without choking, and reversed some foreign policy decisions.

Money FROM Saudi Arabia did fund Saudi Arabian Osama Bin Laden, but he was not State funded. Iran, as a state IS funding conflict and scaring everyone. Saudi Arabia has recently had a bloodless revolution, that saw the Ruling Family and Classes clear out some of their own, and regain some financial control.

OPEC has been the most successful price-fixing cartel in history, and it has been dominated by Saud Arabia. Iran has been excluded from OPEC and oil money, and blames Saudi Arabia. The UK EU USA etc have more to fear from Iran than OPEC, and Saudis fear Iran.

Trump may be on the brink of concluding the Korean War 70 years late. The Iranian revolution has been rumbling for over 40. Ayatollah Khomeni wanted to lead Moslem domination, but lost his destiny. Osama bin Laden had another go, and now Iran is trying again.
