Having had to turn BBC Radio 4 off twice today when the Manchester bombing anniversary was being cloyingly celebrated by simpering presenters with limited vocabulary - I'm not surprised at all that the BBC Breakfast TV show apparently managed to describe the event as "an accident"
I can understand marking the moment - but the shiftily skewed victimhood stuff I heard was better left unsaid imho.

Middle of tonights BBC Look North had what amounted to an advert for US funded lobby group Client Earth, that's who must have supplied the animated graphics for a report that said 'government clean air law talk, Scunthorpe most polluted'
To me that is FakeNews since Scunthorpe is so windy, away from the sensor the air is clean.

Of course the beeboid is naive
#1 His tribal contact keeps tapping him for money on the grounds that since tribe-man has given all previous payment away, he hasn't been paid, ie they don't have our concepts of money
#2 Beeboid has paid porters £10/day and cooks £40 ..
that seems crazy to me, it's like paying a £million/day
..you should just negotiate to bring them stuff like boots/tools etc.
That's why you leave tribes alone so you don't corrupt them and as well as give them the diseases we carry.
#3 You have to avoid being treated as a cash machine ..by giving out the signals all the time, that keep their respect for you . Eg have value as a joker man as a person they don't feel inferior to.

#5 The next 2 we see have moved from a falling down treehouse and into the special huts that were built for the film crew last time.
#6 Last half of the show he stupidly goes back to the village 3 months later and it turns into a massive standoff, mad bow and arrow man etc.
but he has quite a large team of his own maybe 10 altogether mostly English speaking PNG people at least 2 of which are women and they have masses of kit. ..a complete circus.
..To me that is a totally different dynamic from going in alone or with just 1 translator
When I have been in remote places I find that I can go to places where my local contacts can't go
eg I can go to both Muslim and Christian areas.
And quite often I pay less than the local contact would

Do you think that the dialing up is selective? To me certain areas seem not unreasonable. Scottish Highlands and Island, Norway/Sweden and France all see to be roughly what you'd expect from low population density.
UK & RoI illumination looked how I'd expect [from memory]:
Scotland: Central belt and East Coast from Edinburgh to Aberdeen
NI: Belfast and surrounding area
RoI: Dublin and surrounding area
England: dark in Cumbria, Cornwall, Norfolk, East Anglia etc
Wales: central belt from Severn bridge
