Forgot to add.......

We are told that discarded glass bottles cause the death of rodents, they climb in, but can't get out. A glob of peanut butter inside a glass bottle, perhaps with some diced onion, might prove irrestible?

South Georgia was recently declared rat free. Helicopters had carpet bombed the place with poisoned bait, over several years.

If you intend to trap/poison mice and rats, the best bait to use is not cheese, but peanut butter, supermarket cheapie own brand is fine, and a large jar can sit in the fridge for months, whilst remaing fit for rodent and human consumption. The peanut butter is non lethal of course, I have never been told of a rodent choking on peanut butter stuck in the throat or to the roof of its mouth.

Is it possible Field Mice have evolved a taste for raw onion so that the smell of their breath deters any predators?

I don't know either, but seagulls crapping everywhere reminded me of a incident when my children were small. A seagull left a deposit on one child's head, before anything could be done he put his hand in it and said 'ugh it feels like hot chips' since when all such deposits have been hot chips.

Wasn't South Georgia cleared of rats quite recently?

I have a field mouse eating my onions in the garden and ignoring poison any suggestion on moving it on would be welcome. Local stray cats don't seem interest too many old ladies feeding them here so no incentive to hunt.

I have no idea, but why bother to shovel it?

If fast food outlets were opened on the GBR, seagulls would appear and take up residence, doing what seagulls do best, crapping on everything and everybody, much like Green Blob Politicans and Activists really.

Living on a diet of battered fried fish, chips with everything, pizza, kebabs and icecream, why don't Seagulls die of obesity?
