A curious article, on which I express no particular opinion:

"‘Bio-Nazis’ go green in Germany
‘Clean’ eating and organic farming is once again becoming the purview of the right."

"Germany gains upper hand in European split over Trump trade strategy
Berlin wants to offer Washington a trade fix next week, but faces misgivings from France."

https://www.politico.eu/article/germany-gains-upper-hand-in-european-split-over-trump-trade-strategy/

"Only a week before European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker flies to Washington, France and Germany are divided over how much he should offer to U.S. President Donald Trump to end a deepening trade war, say European diplomats and officials.

But, they add, Germany has the upper hand. Berlin is shaping Juncker’s agenda, suggesting three offers that he could take to Trump on July 25 to resolve the dispute, according to people familiar with the plans."

...

"“It’s clear that Juncker can’t go to Washington empty-handed,” one diplomat said. He stressed that Juncker’s proposals would be a political signal to Washington and would not be the formal beginning of negotiations, which would have to be approved by EU countries."

...

"...Berlin is terrified by the prospect of 20 percent tariffs on cars and is desperate for a ceasefire deal..."

"Two diplomats said Berlin has a broad menu of offers that should be made to Trump: a bilateral deal to cut industrial tariffs, a plurilateral agreement to eliminate car duties worldwide, and a bigger transatlantic trade agreement including regulatory cooperation that potentially also comes with talks on increasing U.S. beef exports into Europe."

Etc, etc.

Someone should remind May and her remainer civil servants that we have no need to be the supplicant when negotiating with the EU. Germany calls the shots in the EU, and by and large what German car makers want, they get. If they faced tariffs on cars from both the USA and the UK, they would be extremely worried indeed, since those two countries represent much of their export market.

Brexit is pretty well buggered by the incompetence of this unfortunate woman whose dithering intransigence seems boundless. For god's sake somebody finish her off.

So, post Brexit, which country's fishermen will get first dibs in supplying them to the tables of the Euro-elites?

The window for replacing Mrs May before the 29th of March 2019 is closing rapidly.

Window closing: May's latest skulduggery - Close parliament

May’s decision improves her prospects of making it through to the summer break without a leadership challenge. On Monday night, it emerged that No 10 had proposed bringing forward the summer recess to Thursday, to reduce the time available for Conservative MPs to hold a confidence vote if one were to be called, although Labour and some Tory MPs indicated they were considering voting against any attempt to impose an early holiday.

This just shows the contempt for democracy that these people have when their schemes are thwarted. We rail at the anti-democratic nature of the EU but this is just as bad.

The next General Election is going to be an interesting time, in the Chinese sense, since this destroys any lingering thought that the Tories had any honour, apart from JRM and a few others.

Mark Hodgson: Good comment. The Electoral Commission seems to be very biased and playing to a remainer piper.
What's not acceptable is the fact that Cameron's pamphlet and the usde of the (BIK) civil service does not count for the EC.

Also, I believe that Shahmir Sanni was a plant in the Leave campaign. Listening to him on BBC interviews I get the impression that he was a remainer all along. He certainly does not have Leave in his quiver.

OK, I know I'm hostile to the BBC's reporting of Brexit, but that's because I sincerely believe the BBC to be utterly biased in its reporting, even to the extent of being a cheer-leader for the patently co-ordinated campaign by the remainer establishment to try to overturn the democratic result of a referendum.

Yesterday they gave massive publicity to Justine Greening's call for a second referendum. Today they were nearly wetting themselves with the news that the Electoral Commission has fined Vote Leave for breaching the rules relating to spending on the referendum campaign, and much publicity has been given by the BBC through the course of the day to those claiming this invalidates the result of the referendum.

Never let the facts get in the way!

From the Electoral Commission's own web-site (though this is admittedly inconsistent with some of the numbers they have quoted today):

https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/journalist/electoral-commission-media-centre/news-releases-donations/details-of-major-campaign-spending-during-eu-referendum-published-by-electoral-commission

"Reported spending by campaigners...

Remain Total £16,152,899

...

Leave total £11,534,426"

In addition:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-35980571

"The government is spending more than £9m on sending a leaflet to every UK household setting out the case for remaining in the European Union.

It says the 14-page document, to be sent to 27 million homes, responds to public demand for more details about the EU referendum by setting out the facts behind the government's position."

So, although, on the face of it, the Remain campaign, which had the backing of almost the entire establishment and had over £25M spent on it compared to £11.5M or so spent by the Leave campaign(s), apparently a relatively modest breach (a 6 figure sum) by the leave campaign of the rules (which would still have seen twice as much spent on the Remain campaign as on the Leave campaign) is being claimed by sum to invalidate the result, because it's not fair. Even using the figures provided by the Electoral Commission today, it is clear that far more was spent in total (including the cost of the Government's propaganda leaflet) by the Remain campaign than by the Leave campaign - as set out in the rules, and apparently that's fair.

The BBC's article today happily offers up quotes to the effect that this breach of the rules by the Leave campaign should invalidate the referendum result (even though Leave still spent less than Remain):

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-44856992

"Former Vote Leave activist Shahmir Sanni, who went public with allegations about overspending earlier this year, told BBC Radio 4's The World at One the extra cash spent by BeLeave had affected the referendum outcome - saying such a sum "can make all the difference".

Anti-Brexit Labour peer Lord Adonis said Vote Leave's overspending "could have been decisive" in the 2016 referendum because it was a close result but he did not want to re-run that campaign."

The BBC's piece also finished with this:

"The official Remain campaign Britain Stronger in Europe, was fined £1,250 in December last year for not providing invoices and for declaring some spending in aggregate rather than individual payments."

Which is indubitably true, but they weren't the only people to be fined for this sort of thing last December - how strange that the BBC doesn't mention who else was in breach of the rules and received a fine for it then:

"The Liberal Democrats and an anti-Brexit group have both been fined for breaching campaign rules during the EU referendum.

The Electoral Commission has slapped two fines on the Liberal Democrats totalling £18,000 for breaching finance regulations following an investigation.

The party was found to have failed to deliver a complete and accurate spending return from last year's campaign, including failing to provide acceptable invoices or receipts for 80 payments totalling more than £80,000.

The Liberal Democrats, who also wrongly reported some payments, have until 3 January to pay the fine.

Meanwhile Open Britain, which was formed out of the official Remain campaign known as Britain Stronger in Europe, has coughed up £1,250 for reporting breaches and failing to provide some invoices."

https://news.sky.com/story/liberal-democrats-fined-18000-over-eu-referendum-campaign-breaches-11177197

With less than 9 months to go until we are due to leave the EU in accordance with a democratic vote, the campaign to overturn democracy is now becoming desperate and the kitchen sink is being thrown at it.
