The Daily Mail article is moderated which of itself is a little unusual - as I mentioned downthread I'm getting a whiff of manipulation off this - the Three Musketeers there seem unlikely to have funded their own defense and the attacking the judge simply isn't the sort of thing that your average demonstrator would do - there's some well paid and specialist agitators at work and they are not keen to be exposed imho.

Feel free to think you're superior, EM, it doesn't make your POV any more right. I take delight in honing my (lack of) social skills on jumped up ex-science teachers like you because you never, ever, EVER, admit that you might be wrong. Just today, you suggested I search the web for references that you wouldn't offer in support of your POV, yet you precluded anything I might find on Google because you often find their results not to your liking. How bloody arrogant is that? You should write for Wiki: Connelly would welcome you.

I do feel superior to you.

Your recent posts have shown that you are an unpleasant individual with poor social skills and a bad attack of Dunning-Kruger syndrome.

No insectivores in the Carboniferous EM? What do you think those bloody great dragon flies eat? Marshmallows? [Wiki strikes again!!!)

EM. Oh what a pitiful response - that you are relying upon an entry in Wikipedia. Put a in a search in google for Devonian coals (ie a time before lignin should (according to you and Wikki) have evolved, so that coals should not have formed) and see how many entries you get (I got 2500). Then your Wikki extract suggests that after the Carboniferous lignin consumers evolved making coal formation more difficult. Utter balderdash. The Cretaceous probably has more coal worldwide than the Carboniferous. Strange that.
Advice: keep away from Wikipedia when seeking geological information.

Fracking judge article
Not news, but rather slinging mud at the judge
You learn nothing from top comments, but flip to most downvoted and you spot antifrackers are there.
I'm guessing most of the public are not even interested cos 19 comments is very low for a Mail article, as is 250 upvotes vs the  thousands an anti Liberal article would generate.

#1 in downvotes
So what, what they did was illegal.
At least inside they will get a wash and put to good use.
254 down vs 163upvotes

These people are conducting acts of violence and vandalism and should be treated accordingly.
Also I hope that the Court treats this idiot pursuing lawfare against fracking gets a sharp response from the Court.

How do you explain the Ordovician Iceage with CO2 at 4500ppm?

EM: "Earth System Sensitivity, ESS. This is what we are all really talking about when we say "climate sensitivity""'We'?? Are you the Geological Society of London? The only reference to its use I can find in in ONE reference from SEPP on WUWT back in June 2018.: "Earth System Sensitivity concept introduced by GSL, which ‘could be twice’ climate sensitivity’ "

I can't even find Nic Lewis using it in his many papers on CS.

BTW: I am very capable of doing research; don't be so bloody patronising.

If you are genuinely unable to do your own research, try this summary and the links to which it connects.

There are lots of ways of looking at climate sensitivity. Because of the debate around AGW there is a focus on the effect of doubling CO2. This is not the only sensitivity. There are also feedbacks such as ice and ocean albedo, water vapour, cloud cover and others. There are also ther potential forcings. The IPCC's estimated sensitivity is an ESS is based on the forcing and feedbacks of doubling CO2 because the other major potential forcings (solar insolation, land use, orbital cycles, albedo) are all neutral or forcing a slow cooling.

The sum of all these forcings and feedbacks is the Earth System Sensitivity, ESS. This is what we are all really talking about when we say "climate sensitivity"

The figure I gave was an ESS.
