"Our over-reliance on “unpredictable” green energy .. " Nov 30, 2018 at 8:10 AM | Uibhist a Tuath

Do the SNP have a particularly cunning plan to deal with any civil disobedience that may result, or are they relying on power cuts to prevent anyone finding out the reason why they keep having power cuts?

Re change in the Daily Mail : In the R4 Media show 10 days ago
Andrew Pierce (Ex -Mail-on-Sunday editor)defended the changes by saying , the hasn't been a real change ...readership is up
from minute 14
"No we don't edit comments below the line, on Saturday sales were up 61K (cherrypick)
..yes we did have Labour's Tom Watson just do an article "

Nope, says next panelist
Mail used to be pro-Brexit now it is in favour of May's RemainBrexit
Mail on Sunday was always anti-Brexit
The Times was always anti-Brexit
The Sunday Times was always pro-Brexit
The Express is now owned by Daily Mirror REACH Group ..so it's "tone" has changed

The DM is now calling the Brexiteers "saboteurs"

There is an argument that media has to look to serve younger people as the old die.

Windpower blowhards need deflating, not blowing up by expert Military Personnel

"An unstable electricity supply, if allowed to fester, could lead to civil disobedience, severe disruption, and deaths."

Unlike the oft-heard hysterical claims from CAGW catostrophists, this claim is actually a plausible one.

UaT. Would have thought that in Scottish wind power extremis the combined puff of the Pipes of the 1st Battalion, Scots Guards, 1st Battalion, Irish Guards, Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland, Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland, Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland, Highlanders, 4th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland, and many others that currently scurl to no good effect could be put to better effect.

I see this from The (Glasgow) Herald has made it to WUWT.

https://www.heraldscotland.com/opinion/17263655.herald-view-dark-warnings-over-rush-to-green-energy/

The Scottish Government has rightly been commended for its many commitments, from reducing greenhouse gas emissions to supporting decarbonisation in the public sector and urging us towards low-carbon living and collective action. It was a big step forward, too, when ScottishPower abandoned coal and gas generation in favour of wind power. Smart meters continue to be rolled out, too.

It’s an encouraging picture, even if some politicians fret about a headlong rush to clean energy. Now comes a startling warning, couched in near-apocalyptic terms, from the Institution of Engineers & Shipbuilders in Scotland. Our over-reliance on “unpredictable” green energy and the shuttering of coal-fired power stations could lead to complete power failure. An unstable electricity supply, if allowed to fester, could lead to civil disobedience, severe disruption, and deaths. The loss of fossil-fuel power stations means that restoring electricity after a complete loss of power might take several days. The IESIS also asserts that, in pursuit of reduced emissions, we do not have a robust plan on the long-term security of supply and security of operation.

Cultural Market?
That doesn't pass logic test. The "cultural market" of UK is not similar to Belgium, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Sweden etc.

Facebook break DM?
DM fires threat/competitor to Facebook - again doesn't pass logic test. One doesn't win by surrendering.

Night night everyone.

1. An EU Import tariff, not a UK Export tariff.
2. UK a hugely Net importer of Lamb, sell here. What? We don't like Welsh Lamb? Stop growing it.

Pcar, Fragmentation of cultural markets is bad for Facebook marketing. It costs them money. They want to sell groups to advertisers. The larger the group, the more profitable the marketed group.

Keeping us in the EU is cost effective for Facebook in the long term. Especially if it discourages further regional self-assertion.

The Daily Mail under Dacre wielded authority over a cultural group that Facebook couldn't distinguish from the parts of the US media that are 'KKK' uneconomical. Not saying the Daily Mail was the UK Klan. Just saying that the issues and priorities (rather than the advocated solutions) were similar.
Yet Dacre's Mail was also Clarkson's Top Gear, was also globally mainstream and important.

Facebook needed Dacre's Mail to be broken.
