Al Gore, climate boffin

DK notes that the BBC has been pushing Al Gore as a climate scientist. This puffing of one of their favourites reminded me of their boosting of Will Hutton, who they described as an economist. This, I observed, was an odd description for someone who had been a stockbroker and journalist.

Is this a coincidence or is there a pattern here?

The fact is that there is something deeply boring about both Al Gore and Will Hutton. Is that the BBC key you are looking for?

The man could bore an accountant. That the BBC would call him a climate expert is too funny for words. The only thing Gore is an expert in is self agrandizement, oh, and lining his pockets, and whining about the lost election.
