Bulldog Bob

To tell the truth, there has been very little that has piqued my interest in the climate scene since my long break began all those months ago.

But my goodness, David Rose's splash in the Mail on Sunday over the weekend was something else wasn't it? Those paragons of virtue at Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy, overseen by our old friends Nick and Bob, have been, well, nicking other people's results and passing them off as their own, the better to fleece the taxpayer of a bob or two (or nine million).

That certainly made me sit up and take notice.

Here's Josh's take...

Hunter,
Oh dear, you're taking my comment a bit too seriously. This comment may provide some context.

Hi kim - deja vu, eh?' ...
'Science fiction, double feature, uh oh.'

This place is getting more and more like a girls' gossip session down at the local hairdressers.

ACK, Climate Science has run out of science, and now they are running out of money.

By the way, ave you considered the latest shades of blue rinse?

golfCharlie. Not really, I'd be afraid of losing even more of what were my flowing brunette tresses. Now those new fangled nail bars. Very tempting!

I don't think climate science shows any sign of losing funding, if anything the reverse.

Say, Alan, how do you know that kim is a girl? )

It's comforting to know that the next time any one of us is accused of plagiarism and/or theft, we can can write it off as merely "an inconsequential error in the paperwork".

Tell 'em Phil Boy sent you.

Say Beth where have I written anything implying kim was female? Also I wasn't only referring to posts from you or kim, and those others are definitely not female.

Say Alan, guess I fell for the old propinquity trick. My bad.

Havent people been thrown in jail for faults on their tax return for a few K quid?
(taxidrivers in the north)

Obviously not so at the spending side, when you belong to The Swamp

To provide Climate Science with a fresh new honest look, Michael Mann and Gavin Schmidt are going to sport a new Green Rinse, to their official Hockey Team facial hair. With the Pantomime Season coming up, it could provide the dynamic duo with new employment for their comedy double act.

They have killed the Golden Goose, banned Cinders and oil filled lamps, and now children won't know who Snow White is any more.

Wow, the dog can talk! I wonder if the Dork and the talking dog could have a meaningful conversation? Anything as long as the dog stops pooping on the lawn....

Ayla. By gosh, you must have changed from summer meuseli* to winter oats, even though you are denying the very existence of winters.

Aficionados of science scams of the past will know of the 18th Century Phlogiston debate. Devised in 1667, 'Phlogiston' was supposed to be emitted by bodies of matter when heated. In the 1780s, Lavoisier proved by gravimetry that when the bodies were kept in sealed containers, they gained in mass after cooling. The Phlogiston adherents solved the problem by announcing that Phlogiston has negative mass. They were laughed at; Joseph Priestley was so upset he fled to America. This fall from grace took 3 years.

The LSE has by its actions led to a similar decline and fall of our modern Phlogiston, the claim of a GHE based on 'bidirectional radiant energy transfer'. However, no professional scientist can agree with this because (1) it misinterprets Planck then Bose's analysis of radiant heat transfer, which was for a vacuum (our atmosphere is not vacuum!) and (2) its claimed experimental justification by Pyrgeometer is a childish failure to understand how that instrument works and what it outputs - a potential energy flux in a vacuum to a perfect radiation sink at Absolute Zero.

Nearly a quarter of a century of data fraud is the only evidence of this magick GHE - the real GHE is from a different mechanism - there is on average exactly zero clear atmosphere radiant heating of the atmosphere by the Earth's surface. So the fraud goes up another notch!

Pielke Jr checked one of Stern's forecasts

Page Reference? I don't recall such a precise prediction. Dr Pielke is only giving his own paper as a reference and its $35 to read.

Oct 25, 2016 at 4:32 PM | Unregistered Commenter Phil Clarke

Nobody? A couple of quick points, to the best of my reading Stern ACTUALLY predicted an increase on 2%pa, from a base of 0.2% of Global GDP. So 0.6 by now would be an increase of 200% over a decade.

Secondly, looking at an individual year is not sensible, a bad hurricane year for the US can double or triple the damage of the 'average' year.

Wecome back Bish.

I have not laughed so much since Granny caught her t*t in the mangle.

Can you believe that shower of Phil Clarke et al ?

Oct 29, 2016 at 10:23 AM | Unregistered CommenterRoss Lea

Utterly desperate. Thought I'd drop back in to see what grand matters you deniers were now debating and the content here has grown even more irrelevant. And in the year that is about to be recorded as the warmest in recorded history. Where your fantasies of "the pause" are shown to be the muddied water distraction they always were and you are talking about conspiracy again.

No not some grand overarching one but the irrelevant matter of some pedant getting featured in a two page splash in one of the foremost denial Sunday mags. Wow.

We can have some science sometime? Not that you're know for that but at least you could try....
