Sustainable science - Josh 356
Jan 8, 2016 Josh
New Year is always a time to resolve to do better and maybe recycle stuff from 2015 that's lying around doing nothing useful. Happy 2016!
H/t to golf charlie for the inspiration ;-)

Nothing short of brilliant! One for next year's calendar.
Climate Science-recycling Arrhenius since 1896.
Flood defences.
Manning the Barricades.
Plenty of new job just been created as etiquette advisors for young German women at arms length ,helping them to avoid being raped and sexually assaulted by preditory gangs of migrants at train stations.
Propping up a shooglie table or stool comes naturally to climate scientists, as there is always a tipping point.
Is circular reasoning a type of recycling: if so they have been recycling for years.
But I don't think its sustainable.
I find it sad that having spent years gaining skills and knowledge in their area of expertise, no one can find a good use for these first class , BS generators.
Still those with enough ‘charm’ can always go into TV evangelism , where such skills , combined with ability to lie through your face and keeping it straight, are in high demand.
Lapogus:
And don't you just know that they modeled it first and then ran the model many times over to find out which leg was causing the 'shooglie' (love that word!). But a man bringing up the rear (Stern?) insisted on a 'shooglie' tax which, he assured us, would bring the table level.I'm pleased to see that the flood-water still comes half-way up a duck...
Well done, Josh!
"I'm pleased to see that the flood-water still comes half-way up a duck..." --jamesp
Recent homogenization of earlier data has revealed that flood water came only 1/4 of the way up ducks during the 1930's. This means that by 2216, ducks will float completely underwater among the bulrushes. These findings are robustus.
The big news came from Stockholm University on the 4th of December. Humans have affected the atmospheric H2O by more than a multiple of 290 times that which we have affected CO2. Is it possible that anthropogenic global warming is real because we have reduced the overall cloud mass, sufficient to allow more solar energy to heat the planet?
Conor McMenemie:
Does that mean we humans have increased the humidity by 11600%, or that we have increased the atmospheric water level by 3.5%?
Alternatively does it mean that Stockholm University is very, very short of people with basic arithmetic skills?

Land and river management has reduced the evaporation factor (atmospheric H2O) by 10,000 km3 per year. 290+ more than we have altered the CO2 - The big issue being how Nile Dams have affected the annual flood which put about 6,000 m3/s into the ITCZ where it kicked of AFRICAN EASTERLY WAVES - which ended up providing cloud cover across the equatorial atlantic - making the ocean warmer in line with global warming.
Josh, brilliant again, thank you for the duck!
Mann finger in a dyke?
No, don't go there.
Dam him!
Love it Josh, I laughed out loud mate!
Pretty useless for flood defences.
Replication impossible; so won't stack up or hold any water.
Two rules for your pet climate scientist. Never get them wet and absolutely never feed them after midnight!
"Replication impossible; so won't stack up or hold any water."
Pretty darned good that Bernd. ;-O!
"Won't hold water"- their theories are full of holes.
"theories"
?
Dodgy postulating - I think you mean.
Bernd Felsche, you are being a bit unfair about climate scientists. They will hold back flood water, but you do have to pack them in tight, and leave no air gaps
Josh, time to register your climate scientist figure. Lots of potential uses. My own suggestion would be as a statuette to be awarded annually, perhaps for certain categories. You could call him Evah.
