Lucas to DECC?

Guido has just tweeted a rumour that Corbyn is to appoint Green Party MP Caroline Lucas to the DECC portfolio. If true, that should go down like a lead balloon with ambitious Labour party backbenchers.

I assume it's not true though.

Well at least that confirms that his brains are indeed scrambled.

Clever move if true.
DECC is a poison chalice.

If true - one of my life's ambitions would be realised. I would LOVE to see the Green Party in charge of providing energy to the country. Rather like watching CND fighting the Cold War...

I wonder how that would that go down with Jeremys brother Piers whos climate change / global warming beliefs are the total opposite of the Caroline Lucas agenda

Can anyone suggest an inexpensive but effective generator I can link into my house supply ?

Presumably Lucas will be enlisting the assistance of Jenny Jones, better known as (The Green) Baroness Jones of Moulescomb.
Whether she will welcome support from anti-fracking "tank commander", Dame Vivienne Westwood, remains to be seen.
LOL
One wonders whether the Corbyns get along as well as the Miliband brothers ?
Popcorn time again !

BLACK PEARL: I suggest a Honda LPG generator here.

@Black Peral: I think it less likely that Piers Corbyn "believes" that Human beings are not warming the planet to any serious degree, more likely as an Astrophysicist, he knows we're not! Reality has a way of seeping through most belief-systems, & now with the claims of colder winters due to weak ElNino, cooling Atlantic Ocean thus cooling the Gulf-Stream, & reduced Solar activity, all linked together, to produce cooling on a Global scale, yet with CO2 levels increasing in the atmosphere, the logic & rationale will have to be re-examined before too long!

You know I wrote that power cuts would need more than a shortage of generation capacity? I said that it would need a bad winter + strikes + an epidemic. Corbyn/unions + El Nino + MERS/influenza.

Are there any more cards being dealt for a full house?

Alan the Brit:
Its all very well stating these facts on blogs such as this, BUT non of it ever comes across on the Goggle Box
Just watched Sky News this morning & its the same doom & gloom predictions from the usual invited "experts"
No balance what so ever

M Courtney

Corbyn's school reports suggest that he is incapable of making a 'clever move' ^.^

BLACK PEARL (great song btw hehe)

Many people on this blog are involved in informing the government and other related organisations about 'the facts' however neither we nor the government control the media. We watch for slight changes that may indicate that the truth is getting through.

An interesting variant on this prediction from Ruth Dixon about the Conservative cabinet

[sub-prediction: a smart move would be to offer (junior) ministerial responsibility for climate change to Caroline Lucas (the Green Party’s only MP).]

Corbyn recruits Lucas? Not surprising really: Lunacy, like Misery, loves company.

Lisa Nando...sorry Nandy

"a smart move....." my sit upon!

Nandy, per Wiki:

"She graduated from Newcastle University, Tyne and Wear, in 2001 with a degree in politics and obtained a master's degree in public policy from Birkbeck, University of London. She has worked in the voluntary sector, as a researcher at the homelessness charity Centrepoint from 2003 to 2005, and then as senior policy adviser at The Children's Society from 2005,[4][8] where she specialised in issues facing young refugees, also acting as adviser to the Children's Commissioner for England and to the Independent Asylum Commission."

So eminently qualified for the DECC brief, then. In no material respect whatsoever.

PM Tony Abbot replaced in Australia !
Can we get him on a transfer to help sort our climate C%$P out ?

This is terrific news. I hope Lucas insists that the Shadow Cabinet only have meetings in offices using renewable power.

The Shadow Cabinet will be so inspired and motivated, jabbering away in the dark. One Horse power will be the maximum output of manual workers, and one candle power will be the maximum output of office workers.

Some politicians may not be deemed worth a candle, even if they eat like a horse.

The word right will be banned and replaced. We will all be compelled to march Left! Left! Left Ludd Left!

@Black Pearl: I know that is mostly the case. However, reality will kick in as the Beeb & the Wet Office will have to say something, & already are making excuses & indugling in some arse covering! They have already paved the way for the Wet office being all knowedgable about all things climate, with a little piece on El Nino this lunchtime, & likely colder winters, after of course two more "hottest years evvvaa" apparently to come! I expect to see some modifcation to the mantra over the coming years to explain away what they didn't predict!

Sep 14, 2015 at 1:41 PM | Unregistered CommenterAlan the Brit

Lisa Nandy comes into the Shadow Cabinet untainted by practical experience. Activists will be able to indoctrinate her with everything they decide, she needs to know.

What a surprise. A woman who knows nothing about anything gets the job. No wonder our society is f*****.

Sep 14, 2015 at 6:51 PM | Unregistered Commenterkevin king

kevin king, I think it's unfair to highlight inexperience above stupidity and the new old Labour has that in spades. Labour have gone for gender neutral incompetence.

Sep 14, 2015 at 7:31 PM | Unregistered CommenterTinyCO2

Guido got it wrong again.
If his fanboys stopped the obscenities for a few moments reflection they might notice his record.
He's the political equivalent of a climate model.

M Courtney, but much cheaper.

Sep 14, 2015 at 8:00 PM | Unregistered CommenterTinyCO2

I'm not sure which appointment is more stupid and ludicrous:- Lisa Nandy, a politics graduate, to shadow DECC; or, Kerry McCarthy, a rabid anti-farming vegan, to shadow DEFRA.

I can only assume that Corbyn had got to the very bottom of the barrel of those MPs who were willing to work with him, when he handed these ones out. Less than three days into the job and he's already pissed off the NFU, CLA, Countryside Alliance and most of the rural electorate.

Sep 14, 2015 at 8:53 PM | Registered CommenterSalopian

Salopian, I don't think the majority of the Parliamentary Labour Party are too chuffed about the result either. Rivers of sacrificial deselection blood, may flow from constituency offices, as party members relive some of Stalins greatest moments in Marxist honour.

Sep 15, 2015 at 12:26 AM | Unregistered Commentergolf charlie

golf charlie says

"Lisa Nandy comes into the Shadow Cabinet untainted by practical experience. Activists will be able to indoctrinate her with everything they decide, she needs to know."

Alternatively she presently has no particular climate bias and may even be an improvement on recent Tory and Labour climate fascists.

I wish the Tory pundits here would give Lisa a chance to build up a record and then criticise if appropriate.
