Bishop Hill BBC still handing free airtime to greens
Readers will be much amused by the BBC's latest antics, launching a whole season of programmes promoting the climate change agenda on the World Service.
I listened to the one from the Philippines. It takes me back a few years to when the BBC was handing over the airwaves to environmental activists without a moment's compunction.
Nothing much has changed by the looks of it.
And funny that it should happen on the watch of Tony Hall, the man whose idea the 28gate seminar was.

It's interesting to consider how the claims made in the Philippines programme play out against the BBC saying that it has to disown views outside mainstream science.
Slightly OT but it was noticeable that during the Syria airstrikes debate in parliament to day, Caroline Lucas got to ask a question but Doug Carswell, representing 3.9 million voters on an issue with a free vote, was shut out.
The World Service makes Harrabin sound like a spokesman from GWPF, on the rare occasions when a non-green is allowed to contribute to a discussion that person has to take on both a green and a green presenter. They have taken their eye off the ball a bit recently to promote the rights of migrants, but now that victory has been achieved there they are moving back to climate.
Just sell off the BBC!

Right now, it's all hand on deck to promote the BBC's agenda in Paris. We expected it, and it's happening.
The BBC has this story on its news site.
When it first appeared they had this image which they labelled as:
"Anthropogenic emissions... or smoke pouring out of an industrial chimney "
The image is a picture of a cooling tower with water vapour and not a chimney "pouring" smoke so I sent them a note:
Surprisingly they took notice and changed the picture for this one.
Unfortunately the new one is a picture of TWO chimneys poring out water vapour.
Oh well, at they removed the caption.

Tony Hall may not be the worst offender in the BBC for wasting licence fee payers money and misleading the public, but any book about the internal destruction of the BBC should feature his outstanding personal contribution.
As they are closing BBC3 because of cost cutting, there do seem to be some areas of the BBC requiring drastic cuts to avoid further costs to the UK.
French Television is as bad or worse. I only watch the news yet I get one climate story on Bretagne, Pays de La Loire, local telly and two a night on the main news, all within a one hour slot with 15 mins of adverts and a ten minute magazine about cows in central Marseilles.
Last night it was Cameroon swamp dwellers sinking beneath the waves and a super green sailing research ship discovering that there is no ice in Antarctica and the Mediterranean becoming so warm that all the fish are dead. (Not pollution killing them...0.3 of a degree average temperature increase is killing them)

I think thats the BBC World (womens) Service currently trawling round its widespread over stuffed offices for climate scare stuff. No mention of mitigation systems put in place by the Philippine Gov. Mitigation is to heed the warnings and shelter up hill a good way and its not an unusual event. It was Nigeria last week.
Someone yesterday let off with the 2015 warmest ever year scare at 1 deg C above anything else before. Don't match records though...by a long way. Unless some idiot has been adding up monthly sensor outputs?
All out effort for Paris COP? , but the BBC has always been the other cheek on the same ar*e as the Guardian , so it little surprise to find them follow the same path .
Actually I just checked their Facebook page and it wasn't as bad as I thought ,they seem to make 25 posts /day and only 2 are about climate..and then in the comments around half the people are mocking them for pushing climate change again.
The programme BBC Science in Action is one of the many BBC progs I had to give up cos they have insisted for years on having a "Climate scare story of the week"
Whenever Caroline Lucas opens her mouth it's an opportunity to judge her intellect, so not necessarily a bad thing.
The BBC employs Arts Graduates as Science experts so that the bull sounds better. It also makes the management feel better about their ignorance, and preserves the political ordure.

As has been pointed out before by myself and others, Margaret Thatcher admitted she was wrong on CAGW and should not have trusted her scientific advisor, but instead sought more scientic and economic views.
As for coal:
1. More coal mines were closed and more miners' jobs lost when Tony Blair was PM
2. In the early eighties taxpayers were paying more in subsidies to the NCB than the cost of delivered imported coal. Then taxpayers had to pay more to buy the (already subsidised) more expensive UK coal. That was not - to use the left's most popular word - sustainable
Here's an example:
You have a choice of buying your food from two shops.
Shop one is run by socialists. To enter the shop you must first make a £100 "donation" to the Keep Our Workers in a Job fund. You pay and enter, fill your trolley and at the till the cashier gives you a bill for £200.
Shop two is a free market shop. Free to enter. You enter and fill your trolley with the same - but different brand - products which taste the same and are just as nutritious and at the till the cashier gives you a bill for £150.
Where would you shop? Why should the government spend your money to force you to buy exclusively from the more expensive shop one?

Thatcher was the Great Earth Mother of global warming. It isn't just Booker who said that. She would have been required to change her 'stance' later as AGW became a leftist designated issue.

I posted a link to Booker's article that lays out the simple truth. Thatcher initiated a lot of what we discuss here. She basically founded the IPCC itself, she promoted AGW at the UN and she started the closure of the UK coal industry.
She didn't organise COP 21 or close all UK coal mines because at a certain point in her life she became completely and utterly dead. That was after her resignation as prime minister (obviously).

Once again you continue to troll and refuse to address the points raised about your initial posts with more cut and paste.
You cite Booker again, no idea why as I already agreed that MT initialy supported the man-made Global Warming theory. However, the important point is - like many others - she realised the theory and associated claims were false and publicly admitted her error in initially supporting the theory.
As for coal mines, I did not say you claimed she shut them all. Your claim is she killed the UK coal industry, I pointed out Tony Blair's governments closed more and made more reduntant. As usual you ignore the question and make a non-answer statement.
Let's try again:
