BBC still handing free airtime to greens

Readers will be much amused by the BBC's latest antics, launching a whole season of programmes promoting the climate change agenda on the World Service.

I listened to the one from the Philippines. It takes me back a few years to when the BBC was handing over the airwaves to environmental activists without a moment's compunction.

Nothing much has changed by the looks of it.

And funny that it should happen on the watch of Tony Hall, the man whose idea the 28gate seminar was.

The BBC, like the Guardian is simply a propaganda organ for the British establishment (the City of London).

HSBC Climate Partnership (with The Climate Group)

In 2007, the company made a US$100 million, five-year commitment to work with The Climate Group and three other NGOs to reduce the impact of climate change on people, forests, freshwater and cities, and to accelerate the adoption of low carbon policies.

With The Climate Group, the Partnership has helped set up programs to catalyze the adoption of three proven technologies: LEDs, electric vehicles and smart ICT. HSBC helped The Climate Group to set up offices in China and India to work with regional and national governments to ameliorate climate impacts of rapid development in those countries.

It's interesting to consider how the claims made in the Philippines programme play out against the BBC saying that it has to disown views outside mainstream science.

Slightly OT but it was noticeable that during the Syria airstrikes debate in parliament to day, Caroline Lucas got to ask a question but Doug Carswell, representing 3.9 million voters on an issue with a free vote, was shut out.

The World Service makes Harrabin sound like a spokesman from GWPF, on the rare occasions when a non-green is allowed to contribute to a discussion that person has to take on both a green and a green presenter. They have taken their eye off the ball a bit recently to promote the rights of migrants, but now that victory has been achieved there they are moving back to climate.

The BBC has this story on its news site.

When it first appeared they had this image which they labelled as:
"Anthropogenic emissions... or smoke pouring out of an industrial chimney "
The image is a picture of a cooling tower with water vapour and not a chimney "pouring" smoke so I sent them a note:

In your propaganda piece entitled "Is there a danger to environmental jargon?" you have a photograph labelled "Anthropogenic emissions... or smoke pouring out of an industrial chimney ". The photograph does not show smoke pouring out of an industrial chimney, it shows water vapour coming out of a cooling tower. Please correct the picture label.

Surprisingly they took notice and changed the picture for this one.

Unfortunately the new one is a picture of TWO chimneys poring out water vapour.

Oh well, at they removed the caption.

The BBC article does refer to this

"Under the Clean Development Mechanism, emission-reduction projects in developing countries can earn certified emission reduction credits. "

This is what Monbiot said about that.

"A new set of guidelines also agreed at Bali extend and strengthen the worst of Al Gore’s trading scams, the clean development mechanism. "

- Racism problem of the BBC
#1 It produces progs for some COLOURS but not for others
It produces News Items where some COLOURS are not challenged at all but given a free pass to say anything they want ......
* GREEN & RED are the privileged *

#2 It produces progs where some COLOURS are ridiculed and sneered at
It produces News Items where some COLOURS are belittled and not given to time to reply
* The PURPLE of UKIP ..the Blue of the Conservatives are the bullied *

#3 Political parties and religions could now through the internet make their own programmes to get their message across
UKIP would have to work hard at tha
...whereas the green parties material is provided by the BBC

The Church of England could make a whole series of progs ..now the BBC gives them just Songs of Praise

... Yet the Church of Global Warming gets hours and hours of custom content provided by the BBC

Tony Hall may not be the worst offender in the BBC for wasting licence fee payers money and misleading the public, but any book about the internal destruction of the BBC should feature his outstanding personal contribution.

As they are closing BBC3 because of cost cutting, there do seem to be some areas of the BBC requiring drastic cuts to avoid further costs to the UK.

French Television is as bad or worse. I only watch the news yet I get one climate story on Bretagne, Pays de La Loire, local telly and two a night on the main news, all within a one hour slot with 15 mins of adverts and a ten minute magazine about cows in central Marseilles.
Last night it was Cameroon swamp dwellers sinking beneath the waves and a super green sailing research ship discovering that there is no ice in Antarctica and the Mediterranean becoming so warm that all the fish are dead. (Not pollution killing them...0.3 of a degree average temperature increase is killing them)

Philippines:

I think thats the BBC World (womens) Service currently trawling round its widespread over stuffed offices for climate scare stuff. No mention of mitigation systems put in place by the Philippine Gov. Mitigation is to heed the warnings and shelter up hill a good way and its not an unusual event. It was Nigeria last week.

Someone yesterday let off with the 2015 warmest ever year scare at 1 deg C above anything else before. Don't match records though...by a long way. Unless some idiot has been adding up monthly sensor outputs?

How this works

Forget the $3 trillion carbon market, HSBC's $100m, Grantham's $100 billion.

Look over there ! Willie Soon got $500 in Walmart vouchers from Exxon to buy a hard drive. Forget that Shell, BP have been funding climate science since day 1.

"From the late 1970s through to the collapse of oil prices in the late 1980s, CRU received a series of contracts from BP to provide data and advice concerning their exploration operations in the Arctic marginal seas. Working closely with BP's Cold Regions Group, CRU staff developed a set of detailed sea-ice atlases, covering estimates of data quality and climate variability"

The temperatures in Britain that rose half a degree centigrade in the fifteen years ending around 2000 has spent the last fifteen years declining by the same amount

Bearing in mind all the panic that accompanied the rise it seems strange that no one is mentioning the decline

Excellent. I don't either. My point is that this is pure propaganda, not journalism and the question is why. Bankers don't do (green) ideology.

"Greenwire: Friday, November 20, 2015

The Obama administration has released updated timelines for a wide array of regulatory actions, including efforts for states to comply with greenhouse gas reductions. Agencies will also tackle numerous air pollution standards, drilling and mining regulations, water and agriculture rules and chemical restrictions.

U.S. EPA plans to release its final model of carbon trading schemes for complying with the Clean Power Plan in August, said the latest version of the unified regulatory agenda. The Clean Power Plan requires states to put in place plans to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants. The agency's trading models published in October are meant to guide states as they design those plans.

Exactly. This is what I just wrote on the BBC comments

'The people behind the global warming scam, the oil industry hate coal more than anything else. It's cheaper than oil and gas and it's locally owned. Margaret Thatcher, the woman who shut the UK coal industry and put global warming on the world stage at the UN was an oil executive's wife.

Thatcher also kick started the global climate science industry.

Role of Margaret Thatcher

Certainly, Mrs Thatcher was the first world leader to voice alarm over global warming, back in 1988, With her scientific background, she had fallen under the spell of Sir Crispin Tickell, then our man at the UN. In the 1970s, he had written a book warning that the world was cooling, but he had since become an ardent convert to the belief that it was warming, Under his influence, as she recorded in her memoirs, she made a series of speeches, in Britain and to world bodies, calling for urgent international action, and citing evidence given to the US Senate by the arch-alarmist Jim Hansen, head of Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

She found equally persuasive the views of a third prominent convert to the cause, Dr John Houghton, then head of the UK Met Office. She backed him in the setting up of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 1988, and promised the Met Office lavish funding for its Hadley Centre, which she opened in 1990, as a world authority on "human-induced climate change".

Hadley then linked up with East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit (CRU) to become custodians of the most prestigious of the world's surface temperature records (alongside another compiled by Dr Hansen). This became the central nexus of influence driving a worldwide scare over global warming; and so it remains to this day – not least thanks to the key role of Houghton (now Sir John) in shaping the first three mammoth reports which established the IPCC's unequalled authority on the subject.

John Houghton - one of the maddest people in climate insane asylum. Thatcher's man at the IPCC.

'Sir John Houghton, former co chair of the IPCC and head of world leading Hadley Centre for Climate .

In an interview Sir John Houghton gave to The Sunday Telegraph in its "Me and My God" slot on September 10, 1995. As a fervent evangelical Christian, Sir John claimed that global warming might well be one of those disasters sent by God to warn man to mend his ways ("God tries to coax and woo but he also uses disasters"). He went on: "If we are to have a good environmental policy in the future, we will have to have a disaster".

Stop trolling and posting left wing hate filled verbal diarrhoea.

As has been pointed out before by myself and others, Margaret Thatcher admitted she was wrong on CAGW and should not have trusted her scientific advisor, but instead sought more scientic and economic views.

As for coal:
1. More coal mines were closed and more miners' jobs lost when Tony Blair was PM
2. In the early eighties taxpayers were paying more in subsidies to the NCB than the cost of delivered imported coal. Then taxpayers had to pay more to buy the (already subsidised) more expensive UK coal. That was not - to use the left's most popular word - sustainable

Here's an example:
You have a choice of buying your food from two shops.

Shop one is run by socialists. To enter the shop you must first make a £100 "donation" to the Keep Our Workers in a Job fund. You pay and enter, fill your trolley and at the till the cashier gives you a bill for £200.

Shop two is a free market shop. Free to enter. You enter and fill your trolley with the same - but different brand - products which taste the same and are just as nutritious and at the till the cashier gives you a bill for £150.

Where would you shop? Why should the government spend your money to force you to buy exclusively from the more expensive shop one?

Thatcher was the Great Earth Mother of global warming. It isn't just Booker who said that. She would have been required to change her 'stance' later as AGW became a leftist designated issue.

I doubt if her opinion would have mattered much to anyone, least of all Sir Humphry Appleby.

Hmm, no change there, still trolling

MT admitted she was wrong on CAGW and apologised for her mistakes. That shows honesty, integrity and admission of errors which is extremely rare in serving or retired MPs and PMs. To suggest the apology was due to "CAGW became a leftist designated issue" is clutching at not straws but micro-fibres.

It is also notable you ignore the issue of Coal, Blair and "sustainable" economics.

Instead of addressing the points I raised about your initial troll posts you instead change the subject by posting links to irrelevant youtube clips which are in #1 childish and #2 not pertaining to your original posts.

Hence, I ask again:

Do you agree that MT's government closed fewer coal mines than TB's government?

Regarding reasons for closing them, would you buy your food in shop one or shop two?

Simple questions, easy yes/no and one/two answers for you.

Whatever your answers to those two questions are, explain and justify your choice in your own words - no links to third parties.

I posted a link to Booker's article that lays out the simple truth. Thatcher initiated a lot of what we discuss here. She basically founded the IPCC itself, she promoted AGW at the UN and she started the closure of the UK coal industry.

She didn't organise COP 21 or close all UK coal mines because at a certain point in her life she became completely and utterly dead. That was after her resignation as prime minister (obviously).

"She found equally persuasive the views of a third prominent convert to the cause, Dr John Houghton, then head of the UK Met Office. She backed him in the setting up of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 1988, and promised the Met Office lavish funding for its Hadley Centre, which she opened in 1990, as a world authority on "human-induced climate change"."

esmiff,

Once again you continue to troll and refuse to address the points raised about your initial posts with more cut and paste.

You cite Booker again, no idea why as I already agreed that MT initialy supported the man-made Global Warming theory. However, the important point is - like many others - she realised the theory and associated claims were false and publicly admitted her error in initially supporting the theory.

As for coal mines, I did not say you claimed she shut them all. Your claim is she killed the UK coal industry, I pointed out Tony Blair's governments closed more and made more reduntant. As usual you ignore the question and make a non-answer statement.

Let's try again:

Do you agree that MT's government closed fewer coal mines than TB's government?

Regarding reasons for closing them, would you buy your food in shop one or shop two?

Simple questions, easy yes/no and one/two answers for you.

Whatever your answers to those two questions are, explain and justify your choice in your own words - no links to third parties, no links to or mention of Booker, IPCC etc. Two simple questions - two simple answers.
