Richard Tol says that Bob Ward is 'engaged in a smear campaign' against him. Reading quite a bit of what Bob has written over the past few years, and not just about Richard but about many others, it is difficult not to agree.

It's another cracker.
With these group think episodes, there's a point when almost everyone knows that they got it wrong, but they don't want to come out and openly admit it.
Then there are the real idiots who still don't get it ... but they keep ranting and raving ... everyone, including people who are supposedly "on their side" get embarrassed. And you can feel the tension as they just wish they would keep quiet and stop rocking the boat.
And the big question is this ... will they manage to "keep quiet" and let people just forget about this huge embarrassment ... or will some idiot like Bob Ward go too far forcing his own side to have to come clean to tell him he's got it wrong and with the potential of bringing down the house of cards.

Bob is always portrayed with a benign happy smile in his own approved self publicity shots.
I am sure that he wouldn't find anything else to complain about.
