Sir Alan Peacock

Sir Alan Peacock, a member of the GWPF Academic Advisory Council passed away last week. The Telegraph's obituary is here. David Henderson has posted an appreciation of his involvement in the climate debate here. GWPF has also reposted a letter he wrote to the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2010.

I'm sure the sympathies of all BH readers are with his family.

How come the Telegraph manages NOT to mention the GWPF?
Do I detect a new and unwelcome attitude at this paper?

Good day Sir, thanks for leaving your logical insight into a fast becoming illogical world

He was obviously actively participating in debates over a very important aspect of public policy even at an advanced age. It is noticeable how people who are past retirement age, or well past past retirement age in some cases, are willing to stand up and be counted in opposition to fashionable views. Those still of working age are more inclined to keep silent.

It is a very sorry thing to hear.

I offer my sincere condolences to his family. I hope he didn't not suffer a prolonged illness, & that his passing was peaceful & swift.
