I say bring back the good old days when you could give your local MP a brown envelope full of cash to do your bidding, now-a-days you try and hand your MP the cash and he says no thanks my company already has the contract.

Don't these modern Politicians know how the system works.

This government has declared that sleaze is dead by dint of bringing the corporations into government. Thus we have the latest example, green lunatic Barker met clients of a departmental advisor's private business: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2012/sep/11/climate-change-minister-links-adviser

Quick some MP called Quinn somebody has just asked Cameron a question about Deben and his interests at PMQs
About 3 minutes ago anyone else see it.

Sep 12, 2012 at 12:23 PM | Unregistered CommenterJamspid

I saw PMQs. The Lib Dumb's new Treasury Minister pointedly went on about the Greenest Ever Government. Camoron told her she had the power to make it happen. It looks like the two parties have been given spies in each others' camps to keep the coalition united.

Greenpeace co-founder Dr. Patrick Moore rips 'Greenpeace's Crime Against Humanity' for opposing Golden Rice which can eliminate vitamin A deficiency

Greenpeace is the core of our new fascist totalitarianism. Canada has named it as a terrorist organisation. We should do the same.

What's going on with data molester Michael E. Mann? Said he was gonna sue Mark Steyn but seems to have chickened out. (snip OTT]

I fear your post will soon be on the cutting room floor but I did appreciate "Tree humping chicken" .

Gummer as pig vs Lawson as dinosaur.

In April, I saw Gummer and John Beddington give key note speeches at a 'water security' conference in Oxford. The speeches were given in the Natural History museum (which has a large collection of dinosaur skeletons).

Though the conference was about water, both speakers of course carried on mostly about climate change.

Gummer mentioned Lawson and smugly compared him to the dinosaurs as one of the few old men who still dare to doubt AGW.

There were quite a few 'knowing' sniggers. Unfortunately, being in a room full of environmentalists (though one myself), the atmosphere was such I did not have the confidence to challenge him, with a risk of having a load of things thrown at me if I did.

Your outrageous outburst is in the worst possible taste. I shall be renewing my subscription forthwith.

Bert Rutan has had a go at climate science: http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybell/2012/09/09/a-cool-headed-climate-conversation-with-aerospace-legend-burt-rutan/

I placed a comment [at the end] showing why engineers see through the scam [whereas scientists tend to be easily fooled because they haven't got the practical experience of heat transfer] and how it was done.

Sep 12, 2012 at 3:34 PM | Unregistered CommenterAlecM

One difference between Bert Rutan and climatologists is that his models have to work.

Here he is, doing something useful and original, as usual, 20 years ago...

AlecM, it seems that your attempt to have a rational discussion over at Forbes shall be nipped in the bud.

Maybe Lord Deben would be more at home in Cincinnati http://humanespot.org/images/Mizelle2.png.
